Biography

Seal of the Living God can be explained as what happens when a motion picture soundtrack meets hardcore. Behind the landscape of tribal and electronic sounds is song writer Vic Mendoza. Technically, the project began around five years ago under the name "Corronation." It was resurrected in Sept. 1999 as Seal of the Living God. The project is based in Hesperia, CA.

Corronation, in its early years, was brought together by Mendoza and Tony Aiello (current guitar player for Solid Mind). The sound was more along the roots of death metal and industrial style with rough vocals. As time went on, the members separated to explore different interests and musical styles. Mendoza participated in different bands and kept Corronation as a side project.

Later in Aug./Sept. 1998, Mendoza got back together with Aiello to join his rap-core band, Solid Mind along with Chris and Peter Centola and Ken Kline. Mendoza stayed with Solid Mind until he departed in Aug. 1999 to pursue other interests and concentrate on his college studies in filmaking. Now he has followed the calling to resurrect the side project as he challenges himself to create a new style with "Seal of the Living God." The name was taken from the book of Revelations in the Bible.

Mendoza is very influenced by motion picture soundtracks and scoring. He admires the works of composers such as Danny Elfman and Jerry Goldsmith (for the tribal influence). He is also influenced by film scoring in animated films from Disney and the Dreamworks picture, "The Prince of Egypt." He appreciates the music of other artists such as Scott Albert of Circle of Dust, Klank, Rebecca St. James, Enigma and Loreena McKennit. The Robert Miles and Cloud to Ground sounds of Euro/dance and tech also play a influential role in his music.

The musical goals of this project are to strive for originality and dramatic segments with song writing. Mendoza mixes a motion picture scoring feel and hard edge guitars with drum programming to tribal beats and percussions. Like film scoring, the project leaves vocals very limited (in later recordings) to portray feeling and dramatic elements in instrumental music. Mendoza writes all the music and comprises guitars, bass, the drum machine, keyboards and effects processors to create Seal of the Living God.

Mendoza has been serving Jesus Christ for seven years now and he currently attends Calvary Chapel of the Hi Desert.
