Tennessee Williams is one of the greatest American playwrights of the century. GLASS MENAGERIE, his first big hit was a new style of play, being both realistic and a memory play, based on his own life, with his own name being Tom. In the opening scene Tom addresses the audience, bringing them into his memory and heart. This monologue was originaly performed by Ken Arnold.
