About this site

Until late 2001, when someone mentioned the name, Vanessa Amorosi, I was mostly disinterested. I had seen her before and the only thing that I liked about her that she didn’t try to sell her body in her video clips. At a time when Brittany Spheres was getting attention with her low-cut outfits, here was this Australian girl in long sleeved shirts, winning over audiences with her incredible voice.

I was mostly uninterested in the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic games. I was more interested in my computer, so I missed Olivia Newton-John and John Fanham perform. I was lucky enough to be in the room when Vanessa performed, ‘Hero’s Live Forever’. It took my breath away. I thought she was so incredible. The song was beautiful and suited the Olympics perfectly. There was no doubt in my mind that she was the star of the show. I remember her more than anyone else in the whole Opening and Closing Ceremonies. I was so glad we taped it. We still have it on tape

Again, I still wasn’t into her. Then, the next year, I happened to catch her on, ‘A Long Way To The Top’. I started hearing her music in a whole new way. I thought I’d learn a little more about this artist (who I thought had to be at least, 25). I went to her official site and was amazed to find that not only was she not 25; she was actually younger than I was! I was further surprised to see that she wrote most of her own songs. It seemed incredible that this 20-year-old who had such a magnificent voice also had a gift of being able to write such brilliant songs.

There was no doubt about it anymore. I could no longer ignore her music anymore. I became a fan, there and then. After failing to join the fan club (which is still unjoinable), I went searching for other sites for more information. I searched through Yahoo! which sent me to Vkidz Network, which subsequently lead me to David’s site. David’s site lead me to Whitney’s site and so on…

I FINALLY took the pundge and saw her live at the Mercury Lounge on Decmber 27th. What a night that was (photos of it are in the photos galleries 61-63)! I knew after that, that she'd be my favourite singer to the day I die. Best concert I've ever been to. Then I saw her live performing at the Docklands for new year's eve. I was honoured to get the chance to meet her (and get a photo together). I do feel that her music has changed my life for the better.

Now I’m very proud to be here to open my very own Vanessa site. This is the first time I have ever created a website in my life. One of the main reasons I decided to make my own, is because of the lack of updates on the official one. Even a lot of the unofficial one’s have faults. A lot of them provide links to that owner’s other interests. I know that you’ve come in here to see Vanessa, no one else. I mean, sure, there are many other artists I like, but I’m not here to discuss them. I’m only here to discuss my favourite, Vanessa Amorosi. Nor am I here to tell you anything about myself that doesn’t concern Vanessa. This is for people who are Vanessa’s fans and want to know as much about her as possible. Hope you like my site…

Cheers!

Adam
