STEVE'S STORY
Well, here's what you wanted to know about my family and myself, and it’s what’s known as waffle. I was born in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1948 and then from the age of 2 spent the next 16 years of my life growing up in Bonnie Scotland as you can see by the flag on the homepage, until the ripe old age of 18 when I joined the army in 1966, (same year England won the World Cup) and stayed in the army until 1975. During this time I was married in Cyprus to a lovely Greek girl, but it just didn’t work out seemingly we were not Compatable, so I was married to this young woman for a year and separated for 5, and then got divorced in 1976, and in 1977 (fool that I am) remarried to my now present wife Lillian, and have remained together since, 32 happy years, and would have been 34 this year (2011) But sadly my lovely lady gave up her fight against the big C in June 2010. In 1979 our daughter Rachel was born (one of the down’s) just kidding, she turned out OK but only just, from the age of 11 she was nothing but trouble and now Rachel’s mellowing out, slowly mind you but she’s getting there. Lillian Had 2 new knee's fitted at the Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon, and has just had a Major operation at Medway Maritime Hospital November Last year ( 2006 ), and Myself included, I had a triple bypass at St Thomas Hospital in London, so basicaly A right pair of old Codgers.
We used to live in Battersea, South London where we had a lot of good times, the estate we lived on was a perfect place, quiet, not a lot of noise from the kid’s except school holiday’s but you expect that anyway, and then in the late 90's when house price’s started to rise we put our flat on the market, and it took forever to sell, eventually we sold and moved to the Garden of England, Kent, Gillingham to be precise, and now we are starting to settle back into a new life and hopefully win the lottery (hahaha) I wish!
Since Christmas 2000 I had been doing voluntary work at my local hospital The Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham Kent, and I was enjoying it very much.
It was only four hours but my god it took it out of you, walking round doing the locker bags and then taking the tea trolley round, nip out for a quick fag and back in to take the soup round before lunch and after that write the menus out for the patients and then it’s serving lunch, and then afternoon tea again, and when all thats done! go home feeling Absolutely Bushed. I have know moved on from my hospital voluntary work and am back in full time work as a Courier driver for PEPPER COURIERS*, and beleive me when they say 24 hour deliveries they mean 24. Well, nearly 5 years on and we are still going strong. My daughter and a friend including myself started our own little courier company in August 2008 Named Above* only 2 Vans but we are not doing to bad, gets just a little slow over the Holidays, and Bank Holidays period, but were hoping it will pick up soon.
Anyway that's enough ChitChat from me, have a look round the site and enjoy yourselves. Thank you for visiting my page at Angelfire. Please visit again, And PLEASE dont forget to sign my Guest Book
