Always My Little Boy Brian
My little boy Brian, I want the world to know
When I need strength of everyday, your heart I will always go.
Your love would shine in simple things, a smile or a wave.
And I know I could always count on that with the struggles of everyday.
My little boy Brian, words are not enough,
not yesterday nor today, hours on end I could share your warmth,
but there would be plenty left to say.
Plenty left to say not just from me, my precious Son.
Because you were a friend to everyone and loved by everyone.
My little boy Brian, he means the world to me.
A bright light more intelligent that I'll ever be,
To look at you I saw something deeper than even I could understand,
Seeking answers to your questions, proud to call you a little man.
My little boy Brian, I can't take the credit for who you are,
You went past my highest hopes and followed a brighter star,
To watch you grow day by day, a blessing given to me,
My Son, it is you I followed, your example I was to see.
My little boy Brian, thank-you for letting me into your life,
The true meaning of family, you complete the circle between husband and wife,
To speak of love in all God's things is to speak your name,
And if I never learn anything else I am still ahead of the game.
My little boy Brian, you will be deeply missed,
But now your love is rewarded, in heaven you will find bliss,
God wanted to have your love with Him, so He called you home,
It's up to me to keep your love alive that you have openly shown.
My little boy Brian, I hear your voice and see you at play,
And I realize I will never be able to give as much as you gave,
The joy is for you and for me the tears I am crying,
Son, I know you are here, Always My Little Boy Brian.
