Missy is in a tank but syrians can also be housed in cages. Syrians can climb pretty well and some like to show off their skills in doing monkey bars. However, do be careful about giving your syrian a tall cage as they have bad eyesight and can hurt themselves in a fall. Syrians also have the noisy habit of biting on cages and are escape artists. Keeping this in mind, you need a sturdy and secure cage and you need to provide your hamster with some distractions from cage biting.
