Sima Rosenfeld (Kant)
1906-1942

  • Sima (Shima, Szjma): was born in 1906* in Bochnia near Krakow, Poland, and was the fourth child in her family.

  • During her father's sickness and after his death she took upon herself to run the household for the whole family.

  • Sima married a widower named Israel Rosenfeld, who had nine children from his previous marriage.

  • She moved to the city of Krakow where her husband Israel was residing.

  • She devoted herself to her new family and had a baby daughter of her own.

  • During the big deportation of Jews from Krakow in August 1940 she came back to Bochnia with her family.

  • On the first aktion in ghetto Bochnia (September 1942) Sima willingly joined her daughter on her way to the execution ground. Sima was 36* when she perished.

  • Sima was a good hearted person, responsible woman and devoted daughter.
