Where do I get engine swap parts, and motor mount kits? We are more than happy to provide the mount kit needed for your swap. They generally run $275 for the SiR B16A Cable into the EG Civic, to $600 for the H22A in to the EF Civic.
What type of wiring changes are needed to put this motor in my car? Please be advised you should do your homework before purchasing a motor. We can answer some general questions on motor installation. But walking you through a wiring scenario is not among the things we can do through email or over the phone. Keep in mind if there is no one in your area capable of performing the necessary wiring, then the motor is of no use to you. Basically if wiring is required, the plugs for the wiring harnesses are not exact plug ins and you must consult with a mechanic skilled enough to wire it by hand. Not necessarily difficult, but it does require a mechanic to answer this question.
Why should I buy a motor instead of NOS or a turbo?
Let's say you have a Civic with a SOHC 1.6 that makes 125 horses stock. If you bullet proof your engine before you add Nitrous or forced induction, the pistons, rings, and rods will cost you close to $3000 or more with labor. How much horsepower do you have now by just swapping your internals? 125 horses or maybe a little more if you're lucky. Also you still have a SOHC engine. They cannot be tuned as well as a dual cam motor because only 1 cam controls intake and exhaust valves and you can't control the timing on one or the other independently, like you can on a DOHC motor. Spend about the same amount on a motor swap and you start with a minimum of 160hp on a stock motor.
How many miles are on these engines? How many exact miles are on the motor I'm buying?
Generally they average around 30K miles. Unless you are buying a front clip there is no way to document the exact mileage.
Where are these engines from?
These engines are directly from Japan.
