This movie is GREAT.

The film is about a U.S. Navy submarine captain on a
risky mission to swipe a decoding device from
a stranded German ship (imdb). Directed by
Jonathan Mostow and written by
Sam Montgomery, Jonathan Mostow, and former U.S.
Navy sonarman David Ayer the film was in production in
Rome for 8 weeks begining on January 25th 1999,
then in Malta for 8 more weeks, and wrapped up Russia.
The $90 million De Laurentiis produced feature (also
starring Matthew McConaughey, Bill Paxton, Harvey Keitel, Jake Weber,
David Keith, and Matthew Settle), was number ONE at the box office for
the first two weeks of it's release!!!
