FROM THE CHRONICLER'S DESK
Surging on...
Ripping the darkness of the mundane with the blitz of the novel.
That's how we have been going, and that's how we will keep going.
We are on the edge of making history. Alak for the first time in
its history is quite close to winning Lit-Soc. Just a little
heave and shove and we will have done it.
Kala Trams comes to you at a juncture when the quizzes are just a
whisker away, but the euphoria of the past victories still
continues to resonate in our minds. (The issue came out later
than was expected.)
People here, freshies in particular are always complaining that
they have no time to do things. Agreed you have a 6-day week and
Gupten and Raja Rao trying to dig their teeth into your flesh.
You will definitely empathize with our masterpiece for this
issue, " Leisure". We urge you to read it and reflect
upon its meaning. The important thing to realise is, do you enjoy
doing what you are doing or not. If you are not, then stop doing
it, because then you will never be able to put your heart into it
anyways.
The Alak T-shirt needs to be designed. Anyone and everyone are
welcome to go meet Coorg and give him your designs. You must have
seen the Mandak, Ganga and Godav t-shirts. Those are examples of
bad t-shirt designing!
This time freshies have put a lot more enthu and given lots of
articles. Most of them are humorous so you don't have to worry
about getting bored.
Again, a reminder to all freshies. Please send a blank email to
alak-nama@yahoogroups.com to subscribe to the Alak newsletter.
The only thing that separates Kala Trams from other hostel
magazines is the amount of original contribution. We really need
to keep that up. Do not hesitate to just drop your contribs at
the chroniclers' doors.
