Making Bread With God

While I was mixing bread this morning, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart.

God told me that the mixing of bread
is like
God working in the life of a Christian.

There in the bowl or vessel
is salt,
(salt of the earth)
oil, (oil of joy)
sugar,
(the sweetness of Christ),
then God adds the liquid,
(living water),
then He mixes it up,
stirs all the ingredients
into one mixture,
the Body.

Then God adds the yeast,
(the seed or the word),
but the mixture is weak
without substance,
slowly God adds to the
mixture, flour
(His Spirit).

He doesn't add it all at once
because the mixture
will become lumpy, hard, and unworkable.

God adds the flour
(Spirit)
a little at a time,
working the dough,
(the Body)
making it soft and
workable
in His hands,
adding a little bit
more flour,
working the dough
more, kneading it,
putting pressure on
the dough,
adding more flour
'till there is just the
perfect amount.

Then God sets the dough
(the Christian)
aside to rest and rise,
all the while keeping
His eye on the dough,
(His creation, His Child).

Then, when the dough has
rested long enough,
He moulds and shapes the
dough into a usable
vessel or body.

Then He puts the body
in the oven to be fired or
baked into a perfect shape.
When it has been fired or
baked, at the perfect time
it is removed
from the fire or oven.

It is a beautiful
golden color,
then God adds more
Oil of Joy
to make the crust
soft and pliable,
while the inside
is wonderfully soft,
and it radiates the
aroma of all
the ingredients
God has added,
and now it is ready
to be used
To The Glory of God.

Then God adds to the room
the wonderful aroma
of the baking bread,
The Essence Of Christ.
