Left to right: Brittin Karroll, Foxx Herst, Colette Trudeau, Leah Emmott
LiveonRelease is the hottest thing since rubber soled sneakers. This all Canadian, all female band (yes that's right, band. They actually play their own instruments.) is steadily climbing up the Canadian music charts at a fairly quick pace. The girls are 15-16 years of age and boy do they know how to rock. Fresh out of the suburbs of British Colombia, Canada with their indie single "I'm Afraid of Britney Spears" and their current single release "Get With It" these young rockers are showing the media what music is all about. The band is made up of 15-year-old vocalist Colette Trudeau, a young performer with years of operatic vocal and piano training under her belt; 16-year-old bassist Foxx (Felicity) Herst, a passionate bassist, guitarist and pianist; 15-year-old Brittin Karroll who co-wrote the international Stop The Violence theme song by Bif Naked, "Violence" at the age of ten and has an extensive resume which includes helping out at the Canadian rock music festival Edgefest in 1998, selling merchandise and touring the globe; and 15-year-old Leah Emmott a competitive swimmer with an undying love for sports, skateboarding and music. After getting together and playing various gigs the band landed a record deal with 'Her Royal Majesty's Records' (Bif Naked's company) with the help of their manager, Brittin's older sister, Riley Karroll. The girls write their own songs and put on a jam packed show that is full of energy and astounding talent. If you like No Doubt, Bif Naked, The Moffatts, Me First and The Gimme Gimmies etc, good old rock 'n roll or are just plain sick of the sugary sweet mainstream tunes that the media keeps spitting out at us check out LiveonRelease. Their debut album "Seeing Red" is in stores now.
** LiveonRelease will be appearing with The Moffatts on August 23 in Toronto, August 24 in Ottawa and August 25 in London, Ontario.
