Dereks Camper
I purchased the van in 1993 and spent two
years fully restoring it. Work included all new seal
full welding to all areas re-building the original
engine new/replacement Westfalia interior to replace
the original Danbury. Since then I have also fitted a
Westfalia elevating roof.
All the work including the welding, spraying, engine
re-build (excluding line-bore), retrimming etc has
been carried out by myself with the help of my father.
The van was originally a panel van manufactured late
1975. Danbury converted it to a basic camper, which is
how the van was when I purchased it.
Since putting the van on the road in 1994 it has been
to Holland, Germany (inc Wolfsburg) and all over the
UK.
