Beauty Within the Chapel

The chapel was dedicated in November 1958. The beauty of the chapel lies in the love and dedication invested by everyday individuals. The chapel is love; and remains very breathtaking, solemn, heart wrenching and beautiful. It is a sanctuary of beauty "paid for with a price we cannot ever repay."

Carved Festoons

Within the panelling are eight (8) carved festoons in limewood which depict American fruits, flowers and birds as you see around this eagle. Hidden among them on the south side is a rocket which symbolizes America's achievement in Space.

Medallion of General Dwight D. Eisenhower

A carved medallion on the panel at the altar end of the south side stalls, representing President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The corresponding panel on the north side stalls depict her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II while the tow outer panels show the heads of Godfrey Allen and Stephen Dykes-Bower the two archtiects responsible for the Chapel and the High Altar.
