Linda in my own words.
Marriage
I married Larry, whom I was engaged to during my high school years and we had 2 sons, Larry & Lloyd.
We lived in Highlandtown then moved to Broening Hwy when things were good-a house & new car, and a bank acct- just like most of us then.
Larry went into the service when Chevrolet had problems & was shipped to Germany, he changed drastically. After 6 years of marriage, and unreconcilable [differences],
I made the decision to end our marriage. I moved to Middle River and started a new life for the three of us.
Some of my old classmates know [that] I am remarried.
Children
I have been married to George Hankins for 22-1/2 yrs, we have 11 grand-children and 2 great granddaughters.
Grandchildren ages 6 yrs - 30 yrs and GG girls 1yr & 2yrs.
George has two grown children, a son currently in CA working for Barracuda-software company and his daughter (RN & Administrator) lives on Long Island with her two children (daughter, son-in-law w/granddaughter- 2 yrs and a son) all living in her area.
My oldest son lives in the area and my youngest son now lives in Red Lion. Oldest son has 4 children (3 girls-22 1/2, 20 14 and 1 boy- 13 & 1 yr great grand-daughter) and the youngest son has (3 girls-19, 13 & 6 and a set of twin boys- 17 who are graduating this month).
Grandchildren
See above.
Hobbies
Swimming, Boating, etc.
Associations
I have run into Mickey Trattner at different locations and while night clubbing, Pat Buczkowski while we were on field trips at the Balto. Zoo with our little Kindergarten children. Gregg Brozowski (Class of 66) was my next door neighbor while we lived in Rosedale. We are still friends and stay in touch as often as possible, we have wathced each other's children grow and marry and raise families. But more important I miss all the good friends at Patterson. I often wonder what Jan & Janice, Linda Schrieber, Marie Andrzejewski, Paula Apperson, Karen Armstrong and many others are doing, how is Phyllis Swieczkowski and her family. We were close in our Jr & Sr years. Phyllis was my maid of honor, I always thought we would be friends forever. Our lives changed and we drifted apart, but I have great memories of our high school years and the many times we spent on double dates, night clubing, and family outings.
I was surprised to see [that] we lost Sharon Sullivan at a young age and the many guys who were full of life to the war in 'Nam. I lost an uncle and several friends over there.
Employment
I started in the automotive business and worked my way up to Office Mgr.
From there I went into banking and I climbed the corporate ladder, from clerk to Trust Officer to Dept. Head in the Corporate Trust area.
I enjoyed my years in banking. I never dreamed about being in the corporate world while in High School, and look what I had accomplished.
I surprised myself, and made my parents & family very proud of all I had accomplished on my own and again while in banking.
Who would think Linda would be a Director of a large organization today.

Achievements
Currently, I am the MD Good Sam Club State Director - a large national camping organization of which Md has over 10,000 members.
We hold rallies (called Samborees) in May and Oct at the Frederick Fairgrounds, where we are always making new friends.
We love to travel in our motor home and camp in MD, PA, VA, W VA, SC on the east coast and travel to IN for a rally held there every June.
We just returned from a large rally in Albaquerque, New Mexico and parked at the balloon festival. After the rally we spent a week touring N Mx as much as possible before returning home to set up for our May Samboree. We love to dance (yes I still dance and will pull folks from the audience to get them up and moving), work in our gardens, socialize, and travel.
I mentor at a local elementary school with fourth graders when possible and we are active within our community.
Life is good and we are enjoying it as much as possible, before we can not longer travel the highways and see most of this wonderful country we live in.
Education
College / University, etc.
Groups
We have seen a lot of changes through our years - stereos, color tvs, push button phones, computers, internet, wi-fi, wireless phones, ez-passes, etc. We are the electronic and space age group.
We travel a lot in the US and have been to numerous islands. We will be cruising to Alaska shortly. We both are retired from Bank of America (formerly MD National Bank. George was a Sr V.P. and I was a Trust Officer/Dept. Head - worked in various areas of the Trust Div. and between two offices (one in DC and the Light Street office).
We both enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. Through his position we were fortunate enough to travel and attend several important functions. He was on the Board of Dir. for Johns Hopkins Hospital-Harriet Lane Home for Invalid Children. We have watched the hospital grow and have enjoyed watching the building of the new Children's Center. He has been very active in various ancillary organizations and been on all the boards while involved, giving us the opportunity to meet and know people from all walks of life. One of my favorite organizations besides the Children's Hospital is the Am. Red Cross, George was on the board for Md. and then on the Eastern Regional board for a while.
Service
It would be nice to catch up with everyone again, it has been too long. I missed the class reunions due to work, family demands & traveling - my last reunion was the 10th, I am ashamed to say. My how time flies. I could go on forever, but time to call this the end!
Take time to smell the roses and enjoy life. Take care and safe travels,
Linda Hankins (Sheidy)
