Marriage
I married a wonderful man by the name of John Luther Helmick on July 24, l966.
We just celebratd our 35th anniversary.
Children
We have two children. John Luther Helmick Jr., who was born at Ft. Jackson, S.C. on August 5, 1968.
He is now a draftsman and has been at the same job since graduating High school.
He loves what he does. He has been married, divorced, no children.
He is expecting to get married again in Sept. of next year [2002] to a girl with two children, Kristina and James.
Our daughter, Melissa Ann Helmick Carpenter, was born on December 30, 1973, at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey.
She graduated High school with a scholarship and went to Tech school and got her nursing degree as an LPN. She has one daughter.
Grandchildren
Our granddaughter was born on January 22, 1999.
Her name is Abigail Faith Carpenter. She is our heart and soul!
My daughter had a set of twins on August 26th but the LORD took them home with him 50 minutes later.
This was really a heartbreak for all of us, but we know they are in the Lords garden of roses!!
Their names were Brittney and Nichole Carpenter.
When our son gets married, we will also have Kristina, who is 15 now and James who will be 14 on the 27th of this month, (Oct.)
My son and Cindy have been together for 9 years now, so we have known the kids most of their lives.
Hobbies
I like to bake cakes and decorate them in all kinds of way for my family and friends.
I have done ALOT of them in the last 13 years. I also do alot of crafts, wood painting and others.
My husband cuts the wood pieces out and I paint them.
