"Hello Wally", Vanessa said.
"Vanessa?", Wally said, he was obviously surprised by the call.
"You seem surprised that it's me. Is that because you didn't think I'd call, or because you didn't think I was still alive?"
Wally said nothing.
"It's obvious to me that we need to work out our differences, before someone gets hurt."
"I'm not interested.", Wally said.
"I think you should get interested. I want you to come see me here, tonight.", she said.
"No."

"Tony is driving your father to the MFA tonight, isn't he?", she asked.
"So?"
"If I call him, and ask him to tell your father all about your deal with the Frostanta family, he'll do it"
"Like hell he will, Tony's been with me for 12 years, he would never sell me out"
"Wally, c'mon, how do you think I know about the Frostanta deal anyway? Tony will do anything I say, and say anything I want."
"You f*#kin gypsy!"
"C'mon Wally, name calling won't help anyone. Meet me at my apartment at 7:00 sharp.", Vanessa told her once future brother in law. Wally said nothing before hanging up the phone.

"It's going to be one hell of a night", Vanessa said after she hung up. She was nervous, that was obvious, even to Officer Daniel Cleary, who was so deep in a hypnotized lust for Vanessa that he could rarely see anything other than her radiant beauty. Vanessa had taken him during her first job for the Colini's. Having a cop working for her worked out good, plus he was young, strong, and attractive. With that in mind Vanessa had spent quite a bit of time over the last few weeks taking him completely. At this point he was just about totally hers.
"I'll need protection. You'll be in the other room. You will not pay any attention to my words though, you will just watch and be ready if Wally takes any offensive action.", Vanessa told him. She was going
to try to hypnotize Wally, and she didn't want Daniel hearing and falling asleep. Besides, Vanessa expected Wally to be a much harder nut to crack than Daniel was, than any of her marks had been actually.
Most men that she met were taken back by her good looks, and didn't even see the hypnotic induction coming. Not only was Wally used to her physical charms, he knew she would be trying to get into his head. He would be actively fighting against her induction. Vanessa had to be sly, be thinking one step ahead of him at all times. Or she had to be ready to get into a one on one battle of the wills. Either way, she needed to prepare before 7:00.

At around twenty past seven, there was a knock at Vanessa's door. It was showtime. Officer Cleary was hidden in the bathroom, ready to strike at the slightest sign of aggression. Vanessa was dressed in very casual clothing. This was very deliberate. At first she was thinking of getting all glammed up, and dazzling him with her beauty. Then she thought against it. She wanted Wally to underestimate her. The casual Vanessa that Wally had known for years would be less intimidating than a voluptuous seductress.

Vanessa opened the door and Wally marched right in. He didn't say anything at first, he just kind of looked around the apartment. He was clearly not trying to be polite.
"Looks like my father set you up quite nice here", he said.
"He's been very good to me", Vanessa replied.
"Well, of course he has. You were almost his daughter in law. You aren't of course, but you almost were", Wally said, trying to get at her.
"Yeah, well I still feel very close to the family. I'm glad I've been able to help out"
"Yes indeed. You have been quite a big help, haven't you Vanessa. My father just can't get over how good you are

at 'persuading' people", Wally told her. It was impossible not to feel the jealousy in his voice.
"I'm not trying to show you up Wally", Vanessa told him.
"No shit. You couldn't anyway. Why would you even say that?", he ranted defensively."
Vanessa backed away, "No reason, I just thought you might think that, that's all"
"I don't, besides you couldn't even if you wanted to"
"Yeah you mentioned that"
"Yeah....So why am I here anyway?"
"Well, Wally, you tried to kill me yesterday.. I just thought we should talk about it that's all"
"I don't usually talk about that kind of stuff"
"Well, that's because most of the people you have those sort of intentions for don't live long enough to talk to you about it"
"This is ridiculous, I'm leaving", He said, turning for the door.
"Sure, I understand, you may just want to hear this though", Vanessa said, walking over to the speaker phone on the kitchen counter. She hit a speed dial button. It was answered after the first ring.

"This is Tony...", the voice on the other end said.
"Tony, it's Vanessa, how are you?", she said very politely.
"Oh Vanessa, hi. I'm doing real good, you?"
"Just fine Tony, thank you. Tony, I'm here with Wally. Are you in the car with Mr. Colini?"
"Yes Vanessa"
"Good. Tony, Wally doesn't want to cooperate with me, so I want you to tell Mr.Colini about Wally's deal with the Frostanta family, ok?"
"Yes Vanessa, I'll tell him now", Tony said very politely.
Wally shouted from the other side of the room, "Tony you son of a bitch, how dare you sell me out, I made you! How
could you sell me out like this? Is this some kind of joke?", he screamed.
"Tony, Wally doesn't understand that you'd do anything I ask you to do. Can you clear that up for him please?"
"It's true Wally, my loyalty is to Vanessa. I love her very much, and I'll do anything she wants me to do"
Wally fumed in the corner, then relented, "Fine damnit, tell him to be quiet, we'll talk"
"Tony. Why don't you keep Wally's secret safe for now. I'll call you later sweetie", Vanessa said, then hung up.
"How do you do this you bitch?", Wally muttered.
"Ah, now we're getting some where. Why don't you come sit down with me and I'll explain everything."
Wally reluctantly went over the loveseat that Vanessa motioned to.
Vanessa sat down in the chair that had been positioned directly in front of the soft, plush, loveseat that Wally was in. She was sitting very close to him, much closer than the normal conversation would warrant. She wanted him to be able to look at her very closely, to smell her perfume, to basically be surrounded by her essence.
"So, where should we begin?", Vanessa asked.
"How about why you are trying to get back into my family?"
"Ahh, sure, that's fair. I've always loved your family, ever since I was a little girl", Vanessa said with serious and somewhat sad look on her face, "my father worked for your father you know", she told him.
"Yeah, I know, he was a small time screw up who f*#ked
a few jobs. The only reason my father didn't off him is because he felt sorry for the loser", Wally said, again trying to be hurtful.
"Yeah, my father was not as strong a man as your father Wally", Vanessa said, her face becoming even more expressive in its sadness. Even someone as insensitive as Wally could see disappointed little girl in Vanessa.
"Yeah, boo-hoo, so what?"
"Well, I guess I just wanted to be able to succeed at what my father never could. I wanted to be able to be a big time player in the Colini crime family"
"Maybe, but you'll never be a Colini"
"That's true Wally, and that is something I had to come to
terms with after Sonny died. I've always loved your father like he was my own dad though, probably because of the kindness he showed to a bumbling small time crook that I called 'Daddy'"
"You better pull out the Kleenex, cause I'm gonna start ballin' here in a minute", Wally said sarcastically, "So I suppose next you're going to tell me that you've always seen me as a big brother type"
The conversation was playing out just as Vanessa had designed it. Wally was reacting and responding just as Vanessa had predicted. She was going to throw her curve ball now, "I've had many different feelings for you over the years Wally, but a brother-sister thing wasn't really one of
them...", she said, flashing him a flirtatious and seductive little smile. Wally got the hint. He pressed on as predicted.
"Oh yeah, what do you mean by that? You hated me since you were six years old or something?"
"No, not at all actually. In fact, until you tried to kill me yesterday I always thought of you as.... well nevermind."
"What, tell me."
"Well, I always thought of you as the sexy sort of Mafia prince. The strong oldest son, with the ambition and smarts to take the family into the future. Actually, you were the first person I.... nevermind."
Wally was on the hook now, "What? C'mon tell me"
