As
one travels through time, a trail is left for others to discover or
follow.
Like footprints in the sand, we all leave a mark on this world that
represents
a symbol of life that is unique in every way ... to be shared every day.
A family
tree is a symbol of life. Without a record of family history and
stories to share, the family tree would be as barren as an old tree
without
leaves or signs of life. A family who does not share the names of
their individual families and past experiences is like the fallen
leaves
of the tree ... they will eventually cease to be known by the family
group.
A special
thanks goes to all who assisted in raking in the leaves of the family
tree
... helping to compile the information provided in this web site and a
booklet being prepared to bring the ancestors and descendants of the
Frank
Sallinger family to life through names, pictures, biographies and
stories.

This
is a brief
history of Frank and Margaret Sallinger, their descendants and their
ancestors.
The history of the family you read about on these pages are mostly
accurate.
There may be some conflict in the data shown and I would appreciate
hearing
from you with the correct information. The history of the
ancestors
on Frank's mother's side of the family is extensive and interesting.
A
book has been published
about the Gochenour family and lists many of our ancestors as well as
living
relatives, is nearly 700pages, and goes into great detail about the
Gochenour
family in the mid 1700-1800's.
It
can be purchased
by writing to "Mr. Landon R. Walker, 993 Jadwyn Road, Maurertown, Va
22644"and
ask for the "History Of The Descendants of Jacob
Gochenour".

This Web
Site was
created by Richard Sallinger of Lynn Haven, Florida to provide
information
about the Sallinger family and our ancestors. If any family
member
would like to include an article about their father, mother or
grandparents,
please send it to me and I will put it in the site for all to
read.
The information in this site will also be included in a booklet that
should
be ready in another year or two which will be more informative ... it
is
already over 200 pages in length.
A
part of the information
shown in the Ancestor pages is provided by Dolores Mae Cochenour
Carlson
who "shares the same Gr-Gr Grandmother in Mary Cochenour Sallinger
McMarlin."
Dolores is connected to the Sallinger family through the second
marriage
of Mary Cochenour. Another part of the Gochenour family is
obtained
from the book "History of The Descendants of Jacob Gochenour."
Other
large contributors to this web site are family members: Sally Sallinger
Clark; Patricia Wallace Ivie and Sandra Hilt Norris.
Please
sign
my guest book and let me hear from you.
