My great-grandfather, Reverend Courtland Columbus Jackson,
wrote this poem when he was twenty-one years old.
A family member has the original document,
which is fragile and torn, with pieces
missing on the right-hand side
of the document.  I have
 filled in five of the
rhyming words,
which I believe
to be correct.
Looking Rightousnessward !

Notes written below the poem:

Years Thirty to subject to parents was Christ the Prince of Peace
Example for all offspring.  That wish their parents rule to cease ~
.

No child of parents in the Lord - should have his self-willed way
Escaping from parents rule from Christian parents sway
