Adrian Hobson - Your Plaid Councillor

When Labour ran Rhondda Cynon Taff it was bankrupt and clueless. Their way of saving money was to cut essential services to save pennies while continuing to throw millions at an inefficient DLO1.

One victim of their cuts was weed spraying.

Plaid Cymru has now reinstated the programme and during the Summer the main roads in Taff's Well and Nantgarw were sprayed for the first time in many years.

The effect of the programme should be evident next year. What we spend in spraying will be recouped because theer will be less damage caused to pavements.

Plaid spent another £50,000  to tackle noxious weeds including Ragwort growing along Nantgarw Hill and near indestructible Japanese Knotweed which is likely to take several years to eradicate.

Footnote

1. Although the DLO lost £5million in the last year of Labour misrule, it has now returned to a £430,000 profit under Plaid.

" The Weed spraying programme will be very much welcomed by residents of  Taff's Well and Nantgarw.

It will need to be kept up for several years to have the desired effect but long-term planning and good management are the hallmark of this Plaid Cymru Council"
