Gregory J. Keelor was born on Aug.29, 1954 in Inverness, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. He was taken from his birth mother when he was about three months old, an adopted by another family (the Keelor`s), Greg`s birthname is Francis McIntyre. He didn`t find out that he was adopted until (approx) 1996.
He first met Jim in a grade 11 math class at a Toronto high school. Greg was the "new kid" from Montreal, and all of the kids in the class picked on him. Well, at least one person was kind enough to become his friend.
After high school, he went to university, but ended up dropping out. After that he formed the HiFis with Jim, and they produced a couple of songs. After that band broke up, they moved down to New York in 1981. After that band didn`t work out they came back up to Toronto and formed Blue Rodeo.
Around 1996 Greg recorded his solo album - Gone. He is also a big supporter of the Leonard Peltier case, and put together a CD with songs by various artists, titled Pine Ridge.
