Gordon Lightfoot - 2001

So there we are, walking into the auditorium, and we`re stopped by some security guy. He said that Gordon had asked that we not take pics during the show. Ok, I can live with that, but I`m taking one when he comes out at the end for a bow!!

Anyways, the show was great!! He played some new stuff, as well as old classics. He played for about an hour in a Hawaiian shirt, blue jeans, and brown cowboy boots. then a 15 minute intermission, where I decided I could wait til the end of the show to use the washroom considering the line-up! So back to our seats, after picking up a promo pic. Then he was back in a black t-shirt, black jeans, and white runners for another hour of music.

He told a couple stories, like when they were overseas, and they dropped someone off at the Nova Hotel, but part of the sign had burnt out, so it said the No Hotel. He wrote a song about it, that took him 11 years to write. Then when he played the Trilogy, he said it only took 3 days to write.

After the show we went outside the stage door to wait for a while. "Not too long" dad said. Well, one of the crew hand starting talking to us, so we ended up waiting for him. I got a pic and autograph and shook hands, and dad shook hands with him. Then we made our traditional after-the-concert stop at Tim Horton`s.

Dad was happy that he played the Edmund Fitzgerald. I was hoping to here That`s What You Get For Loving Me or Go Go Round, but the show was great without it.

Here`s a partical setlist, since I didn`t know the new stuff:
