This was my 1st Blue Rodeo concert, and the hardest one to see at.
The show started at 8pm. Dad and I had to walk up about 6-8 ramps to get to our seats, the very last row. We were passing the binoculars back and forth during the show.
Ron played for nearly an hour. He was playing solo with just an acoustic guitar. He told us he remembered sitting up in the balconies (nose-bleed territory). He also said it was hard being an opening act because everyone knows you`re not as good at the headliners, and that`s who everyone wants to see. At one spot during his show, the crowd thought he was done, and then he said something about his next song, and the crowd groaned. Jim could be seen off in the wing tapping his foot along with the music and enjoying his performance.
Then BR hit the stage. Everyone was had been waiting very paticently for them. They played for nearly two hours, encluding an encore.
Jim and Greg started off the night by saying it was the opening night of their new tour (The Days In Between). The stage was black board with large white circles. Jim yelled up to us in the balconies and said that the floor had been done for us. Then you saw everyone on the floor standing up to see it.
Another memoriable moment for me was during Til I Am Myself Again. I was watching through the binoculars at Jim, and all of a sudden I realized how good-looking he is. That was the very first time I had realized it. After that I really paid attention to the show, but unfortunately, it was almost over.
At the time of the concert I was just a fairly new fan, so I didn`t know most of the songs they were playing, and I didn`t think to write down the ones I did know. So the setlist is here thanks to my dear friend Dayna.
