Simcoe - 2000

This was my 3rd Blue Rodeo concert, and possibly the worst. (I`m still holding a grudge against myself!)

The show started right on time at 8pm, but we were freezing long before that. Since it wasn`t preset seating, everyone was finding their spot early. We sat for 2-3 hours before the show. We picked seats up in the grandstand, 3rd row. That was my first mistake. A bunch of us from the discussion board were planning on dancing down on the track, and here I was up in the stands. (Everyone was telling me afterwards that they were looking for me.)

When the guys walked on the stage, Jim greeted us with a "Are you crazy? It`s freezing out!" Later in the show Jim commented on not being able to feel his fingers. Greg introduced Moon&Tree as a 'spring-time song', Jim said to stop complaining because it was raining in Toronto, and he also told us to keep moving and not to stop just because they do. Greg started off the encore with a "Go home, it`s freezing!" There was one fan down in front yelling out a request so loud that Jim asked her (politely) to quiet it down. I`m not sure if they ever did do her request. Jim also broke a string early into Cynthia and had to switch guitars, so he put the pick in his mouth and continued to sing.

As they were first walking out, someone yelled out "Woody" to Jim, due to his nickname. Us fan on the discussion board feel that he looks a bit like Woody from Toy Story. So that`s how I knew it was someone from the board, but I haven`t found out who yet, noone`s confessed.

They only played for about an hour and a half, due to the cold weather.
