• World Music Awards The World Music Awards aired May 29. Backstreet Boys' Howie Dorough and AJ McLean showed up to accept the four awards they won for the group. The awards ceremony was held in Monaco. • Backstreet Boys on The Big Screen According to CosmoGirl, it looks like Brian Littrell and AJ McLean will be joining Howie Dorough in the acting catagory. Not only is Brian co-producing "Olive Juice," a movie that Brian's fiancee Leighanne Wallace stars in, Brian and AJ may be speaking roles in the film. Brian and Leighanne will be co-producing the soundtrack for the movie, which includes "The Perfect Fan" off of the Backstreet Boys' latest album "Millennium."
• The OFFICIAL Book

  Random House Children's Books' Delacorte Press imprint has acquired world rights to publish the first and only book authorized by the Backstreet Boys, presently recognized as the biggest pop group in the world. Entitled, BACKSTREET BOYS: The Official Book, the 128-page hardcover is a photographic scrapbook showcasing the work of Andre Csillag, the band's official photographer, who has had unlimited access to the group since 1995. It is illustrated with nearly 300 exclusive, full-color photographs, which are being made available to the public for the first time in this book. BACKSTREET BOYS, which carries a suggested retail price of $14.95, is scheduled to go on sale nationwide on Tuesday, July 5, 2000. Delacorte Press is planning a first printing of 500,000 copies to meet the demand of the band's millions of eager fans.

• Sad news from the Carter household Some very sad news to pass on...Great Grandma Theresa Phillips Spaulding passed away quietly at breakfast on Thursday morning, April 13 2000, at 8:25. She was with her friends when she died, and a wonderful, kind, gentle soul this woman was with friends, family, and all people alike. We will miss her greatly. • BSBband.com Has Been Updated! Here are some rumors set straight by Tommy Smith: 1. AJ is NOT engaged. He was mis-quoted in the press. The real story is this: Although he fells very close to Amanda, and hopes that she will turn out to be the one that he shares his life with, He feels that they are both too young to make a decision like getting married right now. And they have no plans to do so in the immediate future. AJ says that he wants to settle down and have kids at some point, but not now. 2. Nick is not living in LA, he continues to live outside of Tampa, Fla. 3. Nick and AJ both plan to build studios in their houses. 4. Howie attended and performed and the first two Johnny no-name shows and had a great time, except when Johnny doused him with water onstage, and he had nothing to change into. Poor Howie. 5. Tommy will be playing at Brian's wedding. It will be an original song that Brian and Tommy wrote. Brian will sing it.
• Aaron Carter Book According to AaronCarter.Com, Jane Carter, mother of Nick and Aaron Carter, is releasing a book based on Aaron's life. The book is titled "Aaron Carter: The Little Prince Of Pop." You can advance order the book at Amazon, and it will be shipped to you when it is released sometime in April.
• Aaron Carter's Second Album Aaron Carter fans can expect Aaron's second album sometime in June of 2000. Ulthough the date is unsure of, Zomba, Aaron's record company, says that it will be most likely in June of 2000. If not, you should expect it in the summer sometime. As for a single, it may possibly come out in April sometime.
• Backstreet's NEW single announced Over 150,000 people declared that "The One" is the the one that the Boys need to release as their next single. Voters did this by logging onto MTV.com. Possibly persuaded by a phone call from Nick Carter, fans made it clear that they wanted "The One" to be the next hit to dominate the charts. Stay tuned for release dates and video debuts!

• BSB Charity Basketball 93.3 flz, the best radio station in Tampa Bay, along with Brandon Ford are sponsering Bucs vs. Boys. What is it? • Backstreet Boys Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell pop the question just days apart. It isn't the sort of behavior usually associated with pop stars, but then, Backstreet Boys heartthrob Kevin Richardson has always had a romantic streak. Backstage in Kansas City, Mo., last November, during the pop quintet's Millenium tour, Richardson took the father of his girlfriend, Kristin Willits, aside. "He asked my permission to ask Kristin to marry him," recalls John Willits. "I told him I'd be honored." At the time, Kristin, 29, was touring with Cher in Europe. Shortly before Christmas, Richardson, 28, took her to the Florida bed-and-breakfast where he'd first professed his love and popped the question. Before lovesick fans could shriek "Unfair!" fellow Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell, 25, followed suit on Christmas night. Like his cousin Kevin, Littrell also sought permission from the parents of his intended, actress Leighanne Wallace, 30, who received a canary yellow diamond as an engagement ring. "He proposed on Christmas night at home in [Marietta,] Georgia," says Wallace. "It was really sweet. I have this peace about me now." Having one of the world's most eligible pop stars and the object of millions of teen fantasies declare his eternal love for you will do that. MTV correspondent John Norris, who broke the news of the dual betrothals on Feb. 16, admits he was caught off guard a day earlier when the Boys casually mentioned their engagements. "We just asked each one, 'Who do you think is going to be the first in the group to get married?' and Kevin said, 'Well, the fact is that Brian has set a date.'" Within 24 hours of the scoop, Internet chat boards teemed with thousands of messages ranging from "Brian, how could you do this to me?" to "The best of luck to them." So just who are these Backstreet Girls? Littrell first spotted Wallace in June 1997 when she was an extra on the L.A. set of the Boys' video "As Long as You Love Me." A casting director had sent her over. "I had no clue who the Boys were," Wallace recalls. Littrell asked her out for Italian food the next night-"I couldn't eat," she confesses-and the two have been together ever since. When Littrell had open-heart surgery in May 1998 after a congenital hole had enlarged, Wallace stuck close. "She wanted to be there, and he wanted her there," says her mom, Shirley Tolbert, 53, a former beauty salon owner. Last December the couple were spotted in Orlando, Littrell's home base, when Wallace was shooting the low-budget Olive Juice, in which she stars. Richardson also met his fiancée on the job. In 1993, Willits was dancing in Beauty and the Beast at the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park in Orlando when Kevin, then working the park as a Ninja Turtle, noticed her in the employee cafeteria. He promptly asked her out. "She walked into the cafeteria," Richardson told People last November, "and it was like someone turned a light on." Willits, whose parents-chiropractor John Willits and Susan Patton, an auto dealership employee-are divorced, had attended Oklahoma City University before landing the Disney gig. After their initial six-month idyll in Orlando, Willit's amusement-park stints kept the pair apart. Once the Backstreet Boys caught fire in Europe five years ago, Richardson lived his life mostly on the road. "It's hard, real hard," said Richardson, who is based in Orlando while Willits keeps a place in Los Angeles. "We've broken up quite often because of the traveling." For now, Littrell is keeping his wedding date a secret, and Richardson hasn't set one yet. Whether fans will buy the Backstreet Husbands is an even bigger unknown. "It doesn't hurt their image at all," says Seventeen editor Heidi Sherman. "It may even enhance it." Maybe so, but Howie Dorough, 26, admits that not every Backstreet Boy wants it that married way. "Howie's single," he reassured his fans during a recent radio show, "and always lookin'."
