Chapter 11

“Well?” asked Megan and Nick. “Dear God!” I said. “What?” “I can’t stand her! What a slut! What were you guys thinking?” “Uh, gotta go.” They left. Alexandria started crying. I walked over to her and picked her up. “What’s wrong sweet thing?” I started bouncing her up and down. She usually likes that, not now. She started crying louder, so I stopped. “Are you hungry? Wait a minute, I just fed you a few hours ago. Your dry. I felt her forehead to make sure she wasn’t sick. She was burning up. “Oh, poor baby. We gotta get you to the doctor.” I drove my baby to the nearest pediatrician. “It looks like she’s got the flu,” he said. “Just give her a teaspoon of this twice a day for about a week, or until she gets better.” “Thank you doctor.” Thank God it was nothing more serious. Or so I thought. Throughout the next week, she kept getting worse. Did she have a reaction to the medicine or something? After about 10 days since we saw the doctor, I asked the rest of the group what they thought. “Brian, I think you should go get a second opinion. She’s been getting worse everyday,” said Megan. “I think so too,” said Nick. “What’s her temperature now?” I took the thermometer and put it into her ear (we had bought one of these cause those other baby thermometers are nasty. I’m sorry but I don’t want my baby to have a thermometer in her ass thank you.). “104.2. Higher than last time. Isn’t this the temperature your suppost to take the person to the hospital for sure?” “Yeah, cause at 108 your dead,” said Amber. “Or so I’ve heard.” “Ok, that’s it,” I said. “I’m taking her to the hospital. Somebody wanna come with?” Everyone volunteered. “You guys just decide whose goin’. I’m gonna get her ready.” I walked to my hotel room and got her all ready. I walked back to the rest of the gang, “Who’s comin?” “I am,” said Kevin. “After all I am related to her.” “I don’t give a flyin’ if you’re related or not, just let’s get goin’!” I said. I started walking toward the elevator and pushed the button. Finally Kev showed up. The elevator was taking forever so I said, “Let’s take the stairs.” We made our way to my car. I was speeding the whole way there, evidentially, cause Kevin kept saying to ‘slow down!’ ‘were not that far from there.’ Ahhhhh, some people. I signed her into the emergency room. They immediately took her to see a doctor. I didn’t know if it was because it was that bad or because I’m well, a Backstreet Boy. I was hoping it was neither. The doctor examined her. She had some kind of infection in her lungs or something, I didn’t quite catch it all. He prescribed some medicine and we were on our way.
