Chapter 20
We arrived at the airport at about 5 til 9. Alex’s flight was in about 2 hours. I decided to
stay with her and keep her company. “You know you don’t have to do this.”
“I want to.”
“You sure?”
“Yep.”
“Ok.” Before we knew it, it was time for her to board the plane.
“Well, I guess this is good-bye then,” she said.
“No, it’s see ya later. Good bye is forever and never again.”
“I guess that’s true when you think about it. Where’d you get that?”
“Your sister.”
“Oh, she’s starting to sound like one of those psychiatrist slash professor type
people.”
“She really wasn’t. I can’t wait to see you again.”
“Me either. Remember May 1!” We both leaned in for a kiss. It wasn’t as good
as the first, but I know she didn’t want that yet.
“Call me.”
“You too.”
“I will, you?”
“Promise. See you.”
“See you.” Then I saw her walking down the terminal toward her plane. When
she was out of sight, I turned around, sighed, and left.
