Chapter 6
“Mr. Littrell. I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but Sara’s gone into shock. If we don’t
get the baby out now, there’s no way that she or the baby will live. So right now they’re
performing an emergency cesection.”
“WHAT?” I screamed! He left, kind of scared I think. “Do we have to go now?”
“No, we’ll stay here. I’ve got my cell, I’m gonna call the others to get their ass’s
over here now.” He did just that, and about 30 minutes later, everyone was there. The
doctor approached us.
“Mr. Littrell, could I speak with you alone?” he asked. I got up and followed him.
“Um, Mr. Littrell.”
“Brian.”
“Well, Brian, we got the baby out fine and she’s doing well in NICU for a
premature baby that young. Sara on the other hand, isn’t doing that well. She’d be worse
if the baby was still there so that’s a good thing. But we don’t know if she’ll make it
another week, if she makes it through the night.”
“Oh. I see. Well, thank you doctor.” I was so depressed right then. I just wanted
to take a gun to my head.
“Hold on a minute. What did you want to name the baby?”
“Uh, Alexandria, yeah. Alexandria Elizabeth Littrell.”
“Thank you.”
“Welcome.” Well, at least I had a wonderful daughter to look forward too. I
walked back toward the others.
“Well?” asked Megan. They all leaned in in interest.
