ANIMAL POEMS

----------------------------------------
A Cat

Pawing at a yarnball,
taking daytime naps,
laping up milk left behind,
hiding under baseball caps.
Dancing in the midnight light,
while everone is quietly asleep,
moving in the sleek shadows,
preparing for a leap.
Jumping through the darkness fallen,
onto the empty bed,
to find a comfy spot to sleep
and rest it's little head.

Midnight Shadows

Silent like a prayer,
In the midnight shadows.
A small figure appears,
Slipping silently through the darkness.
A black armor of fur,
The petite shadow moves.
Jumps upon the window sill,
As the eerie light filters through.
Green eyes aglow,
In the silver moon's light.
She jumps off the sill,
Into darkness again.
She finds a quiet spot,
And comfortably settles down.
She curls into a little ball,
And gently rests her head.
My kitten.
