Chapter 11. . .

Chapter 11

We walked hand in hand to her front door. Before we went in, she turned around and looked at me apologetically.

"Taylor, I am so sorry. My parents are being a little lame about this. Thanks for understanding."

"It's okay. I'm so happy that I'm going out with you. I can't complain." I smiled while leaning in for a kiss. Of course I was nervous, but she assured me that everything would be cool. I had complete trust in her and I could never doubt anything she conveyed.

"No, you can't. How can you complain when you have someone like me?" She flirted with me. I pulled her close to me and kissed her again. I could have spent the rest of my life kissing her soft lips and died fulfilled. The whole world seemed to disappear.

"Uh-hem. You must be Taylor?" Mr. Monroe said with a displeased sigh.

I must have turned the color of a fire engine. I was so embarrassed.

"Daddy, you could have waited until we opened the door, you know." Page said rolling her eyes." Dad, this is Taylor. Taylor, this is my Dad or Mr. Monroe."

I shook his hand firmly while making eye contact.

"Come in." He said holding open the door. Page was tall like her father, but the similarities seemed to end there. Aside from their hair color, they looked nothing alike.

He led us through their foyer and into their living room. We sat down as he left the room to retrieve Mrs. Monroe. I looked over at Page and sighed.

"Relax." She whispered in my ear. "He likes you."

"Bullshit! The first impression he has of me is my tongue down your throat. Oh, yeah he really likes me." I said sarcastically.

"Well, it happens. At least we weren't having sex or anything. Listen, they're probably going to talk to us for like ten seconds and then send us off. I told them that we didn't have that much time." She said trying to make me feel better. It was really sweet and I appreciated her effort.

"You're right. You're always right." I winked. We heard humming coming from the hallway and Page stated that it was her insane mother.

"Hi!" She smiled brightly while gliding in the room.

"Hey." I said standing up to greet her. "Nice to meet you."

"Oh, the pleasure is completely mine." She said obviously impressed. She looked over at her sixteen year old daughter and said lowly, but loud enough for Taylor to hear, "He's cute."

"Mom, you're married and way too old." Page teased. We all laughed and then Mr. Monroe entered the room.

"Have a seat." He motioned to everyone in the room. Everyone obeyed and then he cleared his throat. "How'd you two meet?"

"Over the computer." Page alleged.

"Really? Have you two gone out before?" He asked.

"Yeah. It was a few weeks ago." I answered before Page could open her mouth.

"You're parents are okay with this?" Mrs. Monroe asked.

"Why not?" I challenged smiling.

"Good answer. Well, Mr. Monroe, I think they're fine." Mrs. Monroe concluded.

"Okay. Well, Page, you know your curfew. " Mr. Monroe said reluctantly. I was so thankful that it didn't last long. We departed from the Monroe household and we went on our date. It was a perfect night. Dinner was intimate and calm. We then went to a movie and I wish I could tell you the title, story line or even some of the actors that were in it, but I can't because I wasn't paying any attention. I was preoccupied with Page. I wanted to have her right then and there, but I couldn't and I wouldn't.

After the movie, we were in the back-seat of her car, making out in the parking lot of the movie theater.

"I want to. . ."She moaned as I rubbed her breasts underneath her shirt.

"You do?" I asked and then continued kissing her neck aggressively.

"Yeah. I want you. I've wanted you for three years, baby." She spoke without any inhibitions.

"I want you, too. Do you want to do this?"

"Yes." She begged. She looked into my eyes and allowed me inside of her soul. I saw that she wasn't ready. Her hormones were detached from her heart and I wasn't going to make the same mistake Alan made. I wouldn't force her to do anything that she'd regret.

"We gotta go. It's almost midnight. I don't want you to get in any trouble."

"What?" She asked hurt. I regretted stopping the situation, but the timing wasn't right.

"I'll drive us to my hotel." I said completely ignoring her inquiry. I opened the door to exit the car and stood up and leaned against the car. I looked up at the sky and wondered why I was such a nice guy.

I sat in the audience and looked to my right and saw Alan. I rolled my eyes and waited for Hanson to come on stage. I begged Taylor to get me different seats, but he couldn't. He hadn't told his parents about me yet and he wasn't ready to. Even if he did tell, that would probably mean me being moved further back or backstage. I didn't want to be backstage anyway, I wanted to see them perform.

"Page, you don't have to be so mean to me." Alan said finally catching on to the vibe.

"Alan, I'm not being mean. I just don't understand why you're here. I thought you were doing this for me as a present? Well, we broke up so I would think you wouldn't care about me anymore."

"It's isn't about you." He said simply.

"Whatever. I'm not going to argue with you." I was determined to ignore him. After all, that's what he had been doing to me.

"Then don't." He seemed so nonchalant and laid back, but I knew it was just an act. I was angry with him. I found out he went to prom. I know I shouldn't have cared, but that was what I was begging him to do for weeks before we broke up. He insisted that he didn't want to go. Well, something changed his mind because he did. I had the feeling he did it in despite of me.

Finally, Hanson came on stage. I jumped up out of my seat and screamed. Taylor looked at me and smiled. Alan saw what was going on and flicked Taylor off. I paid no attention to him and continued to enjoy myself.

"Now we're going to mellow out a little." Taylor said into the microphone about half way into their set. They were playing a short set, so it was probably the third song. "This is a slow song and if you have our new album, you know track number five. So here it goes. . ."

I felt chills run down my spine because it was one of my favorite songs on the album. Taylor sung so beautifully on this particular record that I knew live it would make me crazy. He made eye contact with me and then closed his eyes. He closed them hard, as if wishing for something. I could feel myself start to melt and then he opened his beautiful mouth and let his voice fill the air and my soul.

"Lovin' you like I never have before. . ."He started and people screamed. I ignored their screams and focused on Taylor. He opened his eyes and smiled. He was singing directly to me and I knew it. It was an amazing feeling. I felt tears swell up in my eyes and I let them fall.

Alan's contempt for Taylor doubled and I didn't notice it. Taylor and I were in our own world and no one, not even Alan, could interfere. As they sung the chorus, I sung with them. I meant every word of it also. I wanted Taylor to save me from everything. I felt as if I was about to explode, it was like an orgasm, but only it wasn't. It was an high you could only get from being in love and clearly, since I had never felt this way before, I was never in love before.

After their set, the concert was over. I gathered my things and Alan stopped me.

"Page, I saw you crying. Can I ask you something?" He asked. I was totally taken back. "Did you ever feel that way with me?"

"You. . .We had something different, Alan." I said not wanting to hurt him, although I didn't know why I cared if I did.

"We did? I'm just trying to piece this all together because I don't understand. Are you fucking him?"

"What the fuck? First of all, it's none of your business what I am doing with him. I don't owe you anything."

"I know you don't." He had a right to hate me, but why didn't he? He was holding on.

"Alan, it's over."

"I know the show is over." He said confused.

"No, Alan, this is over." I walked quickly away and headed for backstage.

There was a line and I stood in it patiently. A lot of girls were nervous and discussing what they would say and what they would do. I was thinking the same thing, but for different reasons. Alan came in line behind me and kept talking.

"Page, you cheated on me. Remember that? You're the one who ended it. I never said I didn't love you anymore."

"Alan, stop it! You're freaking me out. I have Taylor now and I'd appreciate it if you would forget about me." I said loudly. A bunch of girls turned around and looked at me. "Oh, shit."

"Did you hear her? She said she had Taylor." Some girl said annoyed. Several girls voiced their distaste for her comment and some questioned her.

"I was just kidding. . ." I said softly. I wasn't supposed to say anything regarding my relationship with Taylor to any fans.

"I saw Taylor eyeing her throughout the whole show." A red headed girl said matter-of-factly.

"No, Page, say it louder. YOU HAVE TAYLOR NOW!" Alan shouted. Everyone turned to look and I wanted to die. "All you girls, watch Taylor's face when he sees her."

"No, don't. You guys, this guy is retarded and he's lying." I said angrily. Some girls laughed and others looked really upset. I knew what Alan was doing now and I couldn't believe how immature he was being.

"Alan, please don't say anything else." I whispered. He said he wouldn't and I believed him.

Finally, we all went into the backstage section of the venue and were guided to a small room. Hanson wasn't in there yet, but we all were told to just stand around and talk. I distanced myself away from Alan, and most the girls surrounded him. Finally, Hanson come in. A few girls shrieked, but I just smiled. Taylor saw me and his eyes lit up. I wanted to tell him to stay away, but he didn't. He walked straight for me.

"Hey." He smiled. He had changed his clothes and he wasn't as sweaty as he was on stage that night and I wanted to hug him.

"Hey." I repeated after him. He shook my hand and winked. I giggled and a lot of girls near us whispered. Alan seized the moment and confronted Taylor.

"Hey, bitch." Alan said coldly. Zac walked over and instantly knew who I was and what was going on. Taylor had told me he told his brothers about me.

"Shut up, man. This is not the time nor the place." Taylor said as nicely as possible.

"Why not? Don't want to get your ass whipped again?" Alan chuckled. "It's okay. So, why don't you let everyone know about your girlfriend?"

Their father came over to ask if everything was okay and Taylor said everything was fine. He didn't want anymore attention brought to the incident.

"I'm not his girlfriend." Page said loudly.

"Taylor, if she was my girlfriend, I would never deny her. She's not THAT ugly." Alan cracked. Zac was about to laugh, but he tried to contain his laughter. By now, the whole room was watching.

"She's not ugly, Alan. I don't know what you're talking about."

"Yeah, you do. Taylor, Page told me that she wanted to get back with me tonight." Alan lied through his teeth. He was determined to embarrass Taylor. I prayed Taylor wouldn't buy the whole lie.

"What? Page, what's going on? I thought he was over? I thought you and I were. . ."
