Before I ever even considered spending long, hard minutes to create this site, I frittered my time away on eBay.
Something (maybe a gas pain?) made me type "Reckless metal" into the eBay search engine. Someone was selling a copy of our CD on there,
and the bidding was getting rabid and frothy. After the auction ended, I thought I'd pull a funny and e-mail the young entrepeneur to congratulate him on his fine sale.
This is text from my initial e-mail:
> I typed "Reckless metal" into an eBay search and I couldn't
> believe it when I came across your auction!!
> I'm still in shock.
> People will pay $20.00 for our CD???!
> Wonders will never cease!!
> I wondered who bought the copy! It was you!! Total sales; 1!!
He-Who-Walketh-Against-the-Windeth informed me that I was the best drummer in existence, that he would like to buy me things, and that I shouldn't worry about my electric bill any longer
because he would pay it. Here's a transcript of his fine (albeit a bit mushy!) fan letter:
Hey!
Wow... you don't seem to have much faith (if any) in your music... or
the metal scene in general. Nothing worse than a washed up metalhead.
I'm only 21, but have been into metal from Stryper to Carcass, from
Malice to Obsession, from Helloween to Cradle of Filth, from the day I
was born. I can't think of one thing, that is more insulting then a
member of a once solid metal act, who turns around today, and follows
the rest of the crowd to put shame on their music, and the few true fans
of metal who are still out there, and who'll always walk against the
wind.
It's not a joke, as much as many like yourself would like to think.
Metal still thrives, and it lives, where it was healthiest, in the
underground.
It's really too bad man. Why were you in the band in the first place,
if you don't mind me asking? Was it only because it was the popular
thing to do (as it is today to bash what you were once part of?)
Take care.
NAME WITHHELD (even though it's really P.J.)
Metal 4 Life.
