WHO WE ARE
THE MAN BEHIND THE MUSIC
GARRY ANTHONY COUTURE
|
Born in 1962 in Bathurst New
Brunswick, Singer Songwriter Garry Anthony Couture and his family moved
to Deux-Montagnes Quebec in 1977 when he was twelve years old. Attending Lake of two-Mountains High School Garry found it easy to make friends, forming some of his early bands, "The Golden Smog", "Back River Gypsys"and "The Lounge Lizards". In his post high school years, Garry was discovering the world around him when he met an inspiring young poet and painter named Mark Vanderbol. Together with their similar fascination for music and artistic expression, they would write the songs for Garry's first album, "Gypsy Road". With his first album release in 1995, Garry was having the time of his life. Radio started playing Gypsy Road in Quebec, the Maritimes, and parts of Europe. CBC television also did a segment on his life as a trucking musician, which gave him national recognition after it was broadcast from coast to coast. After three years of promoting Gypsy Road, it was time to start getting ready for the next project, that would be "Fools Paradise". While writing songs for his next project, Garry put together a new group of musicians, drummer Dino Evangelista, guitarist Larry Bisson, bassist Daniel Campau and keyboardist Marie Jacob, the new "Garry Anthony Band". After almost two years of hard work, 2000 would mark the year "Fools Paradise" became a reality. |
