Grace Bible Church:
Group Redemption:
Since the heart of man is the stage upon which heavenly battles are waged and the Gospel is the only reality of freeing men’s hearts’ from bondage to sin, then it is incumbent upon Group: Redemption to address in particular the nature of the heart, the life transforming power of the Gospel and the primacy of the local church. This will take place through means of relationships with the lost in our local community. These relationships are intentionally established as a ministry of reconciliation wherein we might have an avenue through which to celebrate, proclaim, and live the out the Gospel before unbelievers; particularly those struggling from substance abuse.
The first phase of Group Redemption is to establish relationships with local
organizations that provide rehabilitation for those suffering from substance
abuse. Our aim is to offer spiritual assistance and care to those with whom these
organizations are assisting. This would involve inquiring about our participation in
individual or group care. Individual care might be facilitated through casual
weekly meetings while group care might be facilitated through bible studies.
Phase 1 will be intentionally accomplished with the aim of establishing phase 2.
Phase 2 consists of utilizing the contacts and relationships established in
phase 1 to launch a weekly addictions class at Grace Bible Church. This class will
be intentionally structured to provide biblical instruction in a group setting but
also it will provide small group interaction wherein application and further
questions can be discussed. Along with weekly meetings, accountability
structures will be established wherein one-on-one care will be provided.
As Group Redemption seeks to reach into the local community with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, it is our expectation that God will redeem his people to his
church. Upon the redemption of souls, it is our desire to assimilate new believers
into the church so that they might find further discipleship through regular church
attendance and active care group involvement.
