"You know Amy none of us know what to get you for your Birthday."
"But mom, everyone knows that all I want is Hanson stuff."
"Yeah we know that but have you looked in your room lately?"
I gave my mom a confused look. What the hell is she getting to?
"You have everything Hanson there is!"
Well, okay. So she had a point. But what was I supposed to do? It's not my fault that they didn't make enough Hanson stuff for me.
"Well, okay, so I'll make you a list." And with that I left to go dancing at Porky's.
**June 9th 1999**
"Happy Birthday to you, Hapy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Amy Lee, Happy Birthday to you!!!!". I love birthdays. And as I blow out my seventeen candles I make the wish I've been making since 1997, "I wish I could meet Hanson."
I noticed that I didn't have many presents on the table but I wasn't worried. I always get great gifts. After opening three killer outfits I was beginning where my present from my mom was. Then I saw it, a giant envelope. What in the would could that be?
"OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!! I LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!"
Inside I found 3 tickets and 3 backstage passes to the Hanson concert that next friday in Minneapolis.
"Wait! There's more!" My mom said and then Care came around the corner.
"Oh my God, my life is so perfect!" I yelled as I ran to hug Care. "Now who am I going to bring?" At that 90% of my friends freaked out. I finally decided on obviously Care and my friend Beth.
**June 16th 1999**
It was around 11:00 am and we were all getting ready for the concert.
"Guys what am I going to wear?"
"Oh come on Amy Lee, we all know that no matter what you wear Taylor will fall head over heel for you." Beth said with a slight roll of her eyes.
"Thanks." I said as I whipped my pillow at her. I finally decided on my "Property of Hanson" spaghetti strap tank top, my black stretch pants and my black platform shoes. Damn I looked good!! Care decided on her tan cargo pants and navy Hanson baby-tee. Beth wore her blue Gap jeans with the black stripe and her black tank top. We looked GOOD. If Hanson didn't love us already the'd love us now.
For the hour and a half drive down to the cities all we could do was sing out honey's songs and talk about what it would be like to meet them. We arrived at the Target Center at around 3:30 pm but the concert didn't start till 5:00 pm. I don't know how we managed to keep ourselves calm but we did. At least until they came onstage. That's when Tay saw my poster. "HEY TAY, IT'S AMY LEE FROM MORA!!". He stopped but only for an instant, said something to Zac and Zac came up to me but tried not to make it obvious to the other fans.
"Amy Lee?"
"Yeah, oh my god, Hi Zac!"
He left and all Beth and especially care could do was scream "OH MY GOD!!!". I was completely speechless. I couldn't believe he knew who I was! As they started playing the first song I think I saw Tay wink and wave at me. Just then a security guard approached me.
"Are you Amy Lee Graham from Mora, MN?"
"Yes, did I do something wrong?"
"No, you must be doing something right because Zac wants you backstage."
I couldn't believe it. "Well, what about...." I said, motioning to Beth and Care.
"Are they with you?" He asked.
"Of course."
"Then they come with us. Zac said it was highly important that I get you back there."
I looked over at Beth and Care. They had the same look on their faces... the one that said "I can't believe this is happening!!"
Instead of opening the gate and risking a stampede of fans, the guard liften each of us over the fence. And brought us somewhere backstage.
"Now wait here. We'll take you to a different room later but you can watch the concert from here. But don't let them see you, it's kinda Zac's surprise for Taylor, okay?"
"Okay!" We all replied in unison.
The concert was great, I loved it. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. During the last song "MMMBOP", a man approached us.
"You are Amy Lee right?" He asked, motioning to me. I nodded. "And you two look familiar."
"I'm Care Gaston."
"And I'm Bethany Kadlec."
"Oh okay, well I am Walker Hanson, the boys' dad. You can follow me."
We followed Walker down numerous hallways to a big room where we found Diana, Jessica, Avery, Mackenzie and Zoe.
"Amy! Beth! Care!" Mackie yelled as he ran up to hug us. I don't think any of us knew how to react but we all took part in the big group hug.
"Hey you are Amy Lee, Beth and Care, right??"
"Yes we are, which sister are you?" I answered and asked.
"Oh sorry, I'm Jessica. My brother talk about you guys so much it almost gets sickening. No just kidding! But they do talk about you a lot. And you should see their room, all you can see is dirty clothes, legos, and your pictures and letters..."
"You're kidding!?" I said in disbelief.
"No, I'm serious, the pictures even TRAVEL with them!" At that we all couldn't stand it any longer... we bursted out laughing. We all liked her a lot. We'd have to stay in touch with her.
"So girls, would you like something to drink while we wait for the boys?" Diana offered.
"Sure."
As we sat there drinking our water and talking about how when the boys open the mail they freak out when they see one from us, we heard them down the hall.
"Did you guys see the sign?" Taylor asked.
"Which one Tay, there were like, thousands of them." Zac said, completely knowing which one Taylor was talking about.
"The one that I showed you and I know I'm not going crazy. I did see it."
"Nope, sorry Tay."
"Me either." Ike said.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I believe there is something waiting for me." Zac said as he took off down the hall. "Hi Am-*GASP* CARE!!!! I can't believe it! I didn't know you were here!"
"Yeah, I am." She said, trying to breathe through his big bear hug.
In the hall
"Hey Ike you don't think I'm crazy, do you? I know I saw it, it was her I swear."
"You know, Tay, I just think that you want to see her so bad that you are seeing things. You don't see me going around that I see Beth... BETH!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!"
"AMY LEE???!!!!!"
