Appalachian Pagan Alliance Summer 2015 Newsletter

The Appalachian Pagan Alliance had a busy summer.
We had a Summer Solstice lunch, as well as an early Lammas lunch,
so our Pamela could attend as she was back in town briefly.
The APA's Ginger Strivelli taught a magical Kudzu weaving class at Raven And Crone store in Asheville on July 11th.
She taught the class how to make prayer wreaths, and banishment boxes using the magical kudzu vines.
We are planning our usual Autumn Equinox luncheon and our infamous APA Costumed brunch on Samhain.

FROM OUR BOOK OF SHADOWS:

Migraine treatments:

Apply Vicks salve behind and in front of each ear, on each temple, on the third eye area of the forehead and on the lips.

Apply an ice pack to the closed eyes, and/or the base of skull at the back of neck.

Place a magnet necklace on around your throat chakra.

Take a ritual cleansing bath with a teaspoon of peppermint oil or peppermint extract added to the very ht water.

Meditate upon the pain being banished, as you hold a rose quartz in your dominate hand and a smokey quartz in your non-dominate hand.

Have someone brush your hair with a brush that has been sprayed with rosewater. (Or any floral oil infused water.

Apply pinching pressure to the acupressure point of the bridge of your nose, where sunglasses would sit.
This can be done with very light to very firm pinching pressure, experiment to see what level of pressure works best for you.

Lines from Terri King

Remember when you were really free
You danced naked in the forest unashamed
Laughed in the wide open sun lit fields
Gazed at the awesome wonder of the ocean
Played in cool babbling brooks
Slept in a bed of wildflowers
Heard your voice echo in the canyons
You wore the stars in your hair and fire danced in your eyes
You sang to the moon with the voice of an angel
The wind embraced you and warmed your heart
Was it really that long ago?
Was it worth giving up?
And what have you gotten in return...
