Witchling Circle March 2001

Report by Lady Ginger

The Witchling's Circle meeting Saturday went well.. We had the 'Spring Equinox cake" ritual that the kids love so well... We also just chatted alot with a new family who has joined the APA, about beginning their studies into out relgion.

The talk of my suggesting that they pick a few personal Gods, to dedicate themselves to, and to forge relationships with as they learned was absorbed by the kids, who promptly got on my back about how come they weren't dedicated to any Gods, as Priestes and Priestesses. I had never really thought about it, even though, that is always my first 'lesson' when teaching students. But I said, I guess I just assumed they were too young. (Boy, that was the wrong excise!) So needless to say...the kids worked on it and came up with Gods they wanted to be sworn Priest/esses of. Amethyst, Wanted Ursual...(Well...she wanted a Bear Goddess...and is fond of Pandas ands Polars...so Ursula was the only 'northern' type bear Goddess, I could find....) And then, out of the blue, wanted Ganesha as her God...Ganesha is one of my lesser favorites, so I have pics/statues of him...and guess she had heard of Him thru me. Anyway...Sybilsue picked Gaia (Her middle name is Gaia) and The Holly King, and Luna. Destiny picked Helios and Isis (Her middle name is Isidora) and Merlin wanted just The Sun God, and Moon Goddess. So they all did dedication rites, and then set up personal altars in their rooms with icons of their personal Gods, and other Gods/magical images/objects.

Usually at these Witchling's Meetings the kids teach us more than we teach them, but this time, they actually listened to my lessons to the grown-ups, and learned something, I had not even thought to try to teach them...it was cool! And now the kids are all into learning about their 'personal' Gods...which is really nice...my kids know alot about all the Gods, and Magic, and Spells, and Rituals, but to have them want to be 'exberts' on certain Goids is really nice!

Blessings,
Ginger
