The differences between Baroque and Rococo are:

+ Rococo art used tenebrism but not as much as in Baroque was used.

+ In Rococo were represented the upper - middle class and the bourgeoisie and in Baroque were painted biblical and common people as well as the royalty.

+ Baroque used more dark tones like black, brown, red, and in Rococo blue, yellow, pink and other pastel colors predominated.

The origin of the word rococo is from the French words rocaille and coquille, meaning respectively rock and shell things used to decorate the baroque gardens.
This style began on Versalles, after the death of Louis XIV in 1715.

In Rococo art, the decorative arts were shown for its curvilinear, delicate ornamentations.
