Rune Stone
Painting
Pix

When I premiered the RUNE STONE PAINTING station at
the James Arthur Vineyard’s Ren Faire last May, I expected it to be a “BUST.”

Rune Stones are “cool” things!
But, this activity requires at least
Two Hours of commitment!
(Thankfully, not all that time
must be spent at the station!)

First you have to figure out what
RUNE or SYMBOL you want to paint.

Then you paint the stone … and,
go away for 30 minutes while it dries.

Then you Clear-Coat the stone … and,
go away for 30 minutes while it dries.

Then you Clear-Coat the stone again … and,
go away for 30 minutes while it dries again.

ONLY THEN can you take your
Rune Stone away with you!

Oddly enough, at the JAV Faire,
the Rune Stone Station was
FAR MORE POPULAR
than the Woad Face Painting Station –
something I thought would be the
LADS’ favorite activity!

At THIS Faire, however, the Rune Stone Station came in a distant THIRD in popularity. It was far less used than the Woad Face Painting Station.

I think it has to do with the amount of activities and entertainments offered elsewhere at THIS faire, as compared to those at the JAV Faire – Folkz are probably more interested in “quick” stuff at this Faire.
But, who knows?! I surely don’t!

(Put your MOUSE on the pic!)

So, I’ll still bring the
Rune Stone Station
back next year.

It may not have been as
frequently used as the
Woad Face Painting Station,
but it WAS used!

(Much to the chagrin of
a couple parents!
