MEMORIES
Doug and his favourite St.Bernard, Heidi
Doug and Heidi
We had Heidi from 1975 until she was hit by
a car in 1982. Then came two more Saints - Hobo and Jill.
They were all beautiful family dogs, but Heidi was
always our favourite.
Doug tending the fire on Wood island
On the last Sunday in June every year since 1990, our friends have taken a large crowd on a fishing boat to Wood Island
for the day. Wood Island is a small island, about
three miles in length and about three miles from Seal Cove.
It has been virtually uninhabited, except for a few summer campers and two hermits, for nearly forty years.
We spent the day walking the length of the island, making a visit to the church and cemetery and finally having a barbecue on the beach,
returning home just before dark. Doug loved these
excursions and looked forward to them every year.

Doug and Sybil
During many years of genealogical research, we have met many
long lost relatives from all over the continent.
This photo was taken in 1983 by Daggett relatives from Washington
who came here in search of their ancestors.
