James Bond: Agent Under Fire was EA's turn at trying to beat the Bond game
'Goldeneye', which was extremely popular on the Nintendo 64. Agent
Under Fire first appeared on the Playstation 2 as the new Bond
shoot'em up. As this game is free from restraints of a film title,
the team were able to explore a new range of gameplay techniques and
character traits.
Best parts of this game include an extensive variety of gameplay
scenarios such as driving and shooting from a moving van as well
as the classic first person shooting. The story will pull you into
the game even further as you learn about each character and their
roles, this mixes with the sound perfectly as the speech represents
a good impression of the characters and the background music sets
the perfect mood and the realistic sfx's of gun fire or explosion.
All the factors mix together to create a game with an emotional quality
that will leave your heart racing after you defeat each boss.
The worst part of this game is its replay value, although there
are a few secrets and extras to keep you coming back a few times,
the single player levels can be completed quickly and you will
have conquered the game after little time. This doesn't effect
multiplayer mode though as this is enough to rival the N64's Goldeneye
so as long as you have your friends around, you won't get bored.
