Sound: 8/10
Story: 6/10
Gameplay: 10/10
Replay Value: 7/10
Overall: 39/50
At the moment, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle is my favorite game,
though, I doubt that will last when Resident Evil comes around.
Now that you know this, I'm just gonna say I'll try to keep this
review as unbiased as possible.
The graphics are simply put, amazing. They're improved from the
dreamcast version that was released last year. Though we have
seen better graphics on the Nintendo GameCube, and I reckon that
in the future my opinion on the 8/10 I gave will probably change,
but when I say their beautiful, I mean it. No matter what rating
I give the graphics that fact will never change.
The music is excellent, close to perfect even. Other reviewers
complain about the rap, but being a fan of rap I like the music
in Knuckles' levels. I'm usually not one to like any genres that
involve singing, but this game has excellent music which from me,
a dedicated rap fan means a lot.
This game if having a poor side at all, has a poor story, but it
makes up for it in the end. My whole drive came from nothing
but gameplay in the middle part of the game. The game should be
played through completely just so that you do have a chance to
see the whole story.
Gameplay is excellent, what can I say, it's some of the best I've
ever seen. I stay completely immersed in the game non-stop, the
gameplay is the BEST feature of this game, take my word for it.
Play this game! especially all you RPG fans who never play
anything but RPGs. You always need a break from the uncreative
Final Fantasy series (luckily their last two games were a little
better than usual). Get off yer arses and beat the gameplay out
of this Sega masterpeice.
Without the excellent replay value, the gameplay would mean
nothing, since each level has 5 missions, you have Chao Garden
bonus game, you've got multiplayer, and you can start playing
from anywhere in the story after you've beat the game.
Overall, Sonic is a great game. It's not going to effect me (and maybe others)
on the level that games like Super Mario Bros., Final Fantasy,
Super Mario World, or Chrono Trigger did, but it will always be
a classic in the eyes of this newly founded Sega fan.
