The All-Nintendo fighting game, Super Smash Bros. Melee is the
sequel to Super Smash. Bros, which sequeled the unpopular Cart
Fighter for the NES. This game takes what was the best of it's
latter and one-ups it all the way, including improvement on what
it didn't have (other than story).
Well, I don't want to go into detail about what's good, so I'll
just shorten the pros down in one paragraph. The graphics
beautifully illustrate the favorites of all your favorite Nintendo
mascots (and even some that you may never have heard of) and
brings it to life, with realistic textures and eye-stunning
details. The sound brings back many of those oh-so-memorable
songs of Nintend classics and updates their quality to match that
of the GameCube. There are a ton of bonuses that add to the
replay value, including 11 secret characters, 11 secret arenas,
hundreds of trophies taken from places, characters, and items
of the Nintendo sort and more.
The only downer on this game is it's absolute lack of story, it
hasn't got a line of story at all, but that doesn't deduct from
how great of a game it is, my rating should not be considered
valid, because this game more than any other can live off of pure
story-less gameplay.
