HAN "Djibouti Monitering By Ahmed Yasin The Two main Factional leaders at the Somali Peace talks in Nairobi have agreed to a proposal for a United front for Somalia peace keeping initiative from EU and AU Countries to see the country through its 2nd Transitional National Government in 2004. According to the realable sources inside IGAD and Frontline state, the TNG will be mandated to; establish national institutions and a federal government of Somalia, conduct a population and housing census, restore and enforce law and order and improve the living standards of the Somali people. Somali presidential candidates Abdulqassim Salad Hassan and Abdullahi Yusuf has appealed secretly to the international community to help the upcomming 2nd TNG. They both side "The UNDP and World Bank project marks an important step in terms of creating a database for Somali institutions, raising the living standards of the Somali people, and the overall development of our country." The core leaders of, the Somali Reconciliation Restoration Council (SRRC) and the G8, have endorsed Mr Abdullahi Yusuf, the current Puland President. The other candidates who have declared their interest for the presidency and named by their core group include Sheikh Adan Madoobe (RRA); Mr Farah Adow (Olympic), a former official with the Federation of International Football Association have endorsed by The Somali national salvation council (SNSC), which is an alliance of a number of Somalia main factions (USC, USC/SNA, USC/SP, SPM, SSDF, RRA and other Six groups) . Apart from the transitional president, 350 members of parliament who will be nominated by the delegates attending the Safari Hotel peace talks will also be elected. The United States, Africa Union Rep, Arab League, IGAD and international organizations will act as observers of the Somali elections. The United Nations will supervise the elections after the five years interim period during which the peace-keeping initiative will assist in the reconciliation's and the reconstruction process for the 2nd TNG mandate.
