For the very first time Miss Mexico is celebrated under the organization of Nuestra Belleza that this time was keen to look for intelligence. Luz Marina Zetina from the State of Mexico was crowned as the winner by hands of Sushmita Sen and Lupita Jones. She lived for four years in San Diego, so she knew perfect English, as well as perfect French.

In the past, she studied psychology, but she realized that Communication Sciences was the career she wanted to study so she entered to the Intercontinental University. Her heroine was Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, a famous writer, and she fought to be like successful as her. The Miss Mexico event was conduced by Raul Velasco who was criticized for the following thing. Luz Maria Zetina wasn’t the favourite of the people who wanted Miss Jalisco, Guadalajara’s Luz Elena Glez to win (since the pageant was held in Guadalajara). So people started to boo her, and Raul Velasco asked her to explain the audience that she was truly a good representant. She just replied that it wasn’t worth it. Great favourites of the night were Yadhira Carrillo from Aguascalientes and Amina Blancarte from Sinaloa. Some people believe that the audience that booed Luz Maria, were people from de other organization that was sued by fraud.

Luz Maria is a famous actress now and has been in many television series, soap operas, and movies.
