sorry for the long wait for an update i had some computer problems but that is all better now. the news is as of this commin weekend i will be a resedant of summerland BC again, my number is 494 0255 for you guys who want to ride. for team news this weekend Andrew laz is headed to edminton to ride his little kids bike. Sexsmith still does back flips. The guy who taught me how to drop the penticton bowl , oh so many years ago will be in penticton next saturday for a mounth and i know he is aching to ride. Matt Ridgeway is still hooking up with the ladys. Aaron gates is on the othr side of the world. Jordan hango is probbly at the castlegar park right now as you read this doing so tables and look backs and some sexy ladies. Danny lives in alberta, who would have funk. Jarad gibbenhucker is moving in with his day so i suppose he has a new number and such but i am sure he will call as i walk in the door of my house next weekend. well this weekend if the weather holds up we will put some finishing tuches on sexsmiths video part. we are currently planing for the next no bikes jam, it will be the weekend after the 1664 street justice contest in late july. terrible one has agread to sponser the jam and i talked to Jamie at ten pack and it looks like they will be helping out. it should be a good jam this year. if you have ramps kicking around and you want to donate them slide me an e-mail. What else is news. i made travis sexsmith a belt buckle and it is bigger then my head, i think travis will be stocked. oh yeah he is going to a party tonight where he will put his charms on a bunch of young girls. That is preatty much the news, gas is 1$ a litter at the gas station by my house. and there is more spelling mastakes in this update then sexsmiths note book.

May ?, 2004

Yeah so I'm in New Zealand until December now, which means i have to miss out on a bunch of rad stuff this summer but I guess that's life. I'm staying on at school for another semester, which is a really good thing; I've learned more in the last four months than probably ever and I'm looking foreward to keeping it up. One good thing is i have a bit more time to get around to some of the parks around here and film some stuff for the next video, which is going to rule (but probably not because of my part). That's about all i can think of for now.

today i finished making a titanium spindle for my primo crank. it shaved half a pound off so not to shabby. but is half a pound worth 200$ to go buy one, that is a little questionable. I am ranting. on the weekend me, travis sexsmith and my cousin brad rode the maple ridge dam it was fun and don't ask me for directions. oh and don't ask me to make you a spindle becouse i am lazy and i am not going to do it. Well it is 4:20 today so i hope all you qustionable riders out there are having a good time. that is the news. Really there is no news i just wanted to make an update before bmx kelowna

March 20th, 2004

Yo Andrew and mat are gone now we had a good time lots of riding. andrew took one to the knee and messed it up. here are the pictures from there trip.

March 18th, 2004

Why i hate Mat Ridgeway. LAst night Ridgeway decided he could shot gun beer with Andrew. Mat is a very cheap drunk. He decided that he wanted to go to 7-11 at 1 am i told him no don't go like a hundred times but he went anyways and he decided to take my video camera so i would come to. by the time i caught up to him he had all ready reached 7-11 so i got kinda mad and took my camera back then we headed back to the house. On the way back to the house some big gangster dude decided he wanted my video camera. note: if you go out at night don't bring exspensive stuff with you. Well the big guy was like how are you doing and i was like fine. before i finished saying fine he had punched me in the face. Now instead of getting my ass kicked and camera swiped we ran like pussys. and that was that i even got to keep my camera. The morial of this story is don't give ridgeway beer, Don't let him know where your camera is and don't go to 7-11 at 1 am in burnaby.

In other news we rode at Ron Mercers new indoor yesterday. It was preatty small but it was a lot of fun. a recomend every one goes there at least once

March 18th, 2004

Well, i haven't been on a computer in a while, not much happenning here, i got a new lens for my video camera and learned a couple tricks, in a couple weeks we're taking off for the south island; i'm going to go hang out with penguins.

Aaron.

March 15th, 2004

We had an interesting time at the momarial jam for Chris Cayford. I drove up and brought Travis Sexsmith with me. within minutes of sexsmith getting his bike off the car he maniged to crash on his face, Knocking a tooth around and getting a black eye. My riding was a little better other then my knee hurt. Well There was a really good turn out thanks to every one for going it would of ment a lot to Chris. Even A big crew from the coast showed up Jay Miron, Dave Osoto, Dustin Gunther, and Terry. it was good times. Well after every thing was said and done we went out to earls for some grub. at which point some one backed in to my bike rack and bent it up for me, Nice Guys hey. well we got on the high way and we herd this sound looked back and one of the bikes was missing off the rack. it was mine. this really made my night but to make it extra special two cars ran it over leaving me with a dead frount end of my bike and two insurance claims. Well other then that it was a really good weekend.

March 11th, 2004

yo yo yo, Spring Break starts this weekend. Saturday is the momarial jam For Chris Cayford. if you knew him you should show up it will be a good time with lots of memories. I will be bring Copies of the no bikes DVD the will be 10$ a piece and the new t-shirts have arived, 15$ a piece for those and 35$ for a hoodie. Well i am getting the car packed up for the trip tommorow, lets hope it makes it.. See every one Saturday, -----Travis & Travis----

March 10th, 2004

I haven't been keeping up on this page too much so here is a contribution courtesy of my bible school experience, the guy who wrote this poem is one of my room mates, he's a construction worker/farmer who decided to take up poetry upon arrival here. Matt never takes more than maybe half an hour to compose any of his poems and for reasons unknown to anyone has begun to include Hitler in all of his poems, sometimes for a reason and sometimes not. The principle and the dean picked up on Matt's poetry one day and now they let him read it before lectures sometimes. So yeah, I'm having a good time and I get to ride lots, i even learned a couple new tricks, weird hey... The Mustache the Mustache

By Matt West

The mustache the mustache

What shall I say

The mustache the mustache

It looks a bit like hay

We have all have asked the question

Where did it go

We have all have asked the question

Why is it on the low

It is the one we call Hitler

He the one to blame?

He had a pretty mustache

And we should do the same.

We can point the finger

But we all know what is true

Hitler did not do it

But it was me and you

We all know it is pretty

We all know it is cute

Woman really dig it

Women think it is cute

Some may have a lot

Some not quite as much

They are all unlike and different

And some are fun to touch

Do not be discouraged

No two can be the same

Do not be discouraged

They will all be brought to fame

Do not do what Josh has done

Don't take the razor out

Let it grow forever

Let it make a shout

You will love the stashe forever

If you let him out

You will love your stash forever

So throw your razor out.

on a related note the gardener here has never shaved his moustache, the

moustache he has now has been present since birth (well, kind of). Apparently

the moustache will soon be the new dangley key chain thing of the skate/punk

scene according to my friend Nathan. Believe it.

March 6th, 2004 Soft Goods update

I realize that it has almost been eight months since we changed our manufacture for our t-shirts. In addition, I realize that there are many people mad at No Bikes for not doing something about this problem. Our manufacture has made a promise that this coming Monday they will finish our order. This means the clothing will be in my hand At the Winfield Jam. I’m another problem occurs with our manufacture we will withdraw our current order and find a new manufacture that can get the pre order merchandise to the no bikes customers even with a negative profit at no bikes. As always we apologies for the frustration of waiting for product. We hope that the manufacture can make the dead line. ------No Bikes-----

So what can I tell you about Alberta besides the fact that my cows have gone mad, the prairies are looking' perdy, and winter is now ever-present amongst us (with the exception of some enjoyable chinooks over this past little while). As far as I go (which is yet undetermined...I mean, how far will I go? How far will you go? There ya have it, some motivation for ya) I am currently enjoying my 2nd year of obtaining my communications degree at Mount Royal College here in Calgary. It occupies a fair bit of time but still not as much as the lazy college student life-style does. It still blows me away how I can find all this time to stay up all night on MSN, play guitar and jam for hours, watch the odd DVD, and drink my face off, but still not fit all of the few hours of class my days actually call for. Ah well, I'm pretty content. As far as riding goes in Calgary these days, we are still left with a tease of a skatepark called The Source (a nice, big, amazing park that doesn't allow bikes) and I have heard rumors of the recently shut-down Four O Three skatepark re-opening (possibly outdoor on a big lot with nothing more than a tarp over top and entry by donation, so Sir-Arf-a-Lot informed me). I enjoyed some close calls this past fall at the college, as well as lot of flats that seemed to occur every time I rode outside of this invisible set radius around my home in the residence. A lot of new stuff was just built up around the college and is quite ride-able, but the campus 5-0 don't take to a likenin' to the riding of these obstacles, as with most places. The few times I made it down to Millennium it seemed same-old same-old with the exception of a much smaller amount of BMXers as in the past, as the main-stream appeal of it has seemingly come to an end. From talking to some of the locals it seems a few of Calgary's locals have moved to places in BC or otherwise in hopes of better shreddin' grounds, and I'm sure they will find what they are looking for. I also feel it my duty to also put in a word for my hometown of Drumheller. It seems the scene has nearly died if not already. Although I did live there for a few months this summer, I didn't really ever see or participate in any good sessions like so many that were had in summers before. I guess good ol' Drugheller (or Drunkheller, whatever you prefer) often gets the best of most people. Well folks, my update is over, hope your 2004 is a gooder. ----Danny----

February 2nd, 2004 Mat Lindsey

Although I haven't seen Chris in a few years I can remember so much of him. As I think back to the time I spent with Chris I can only recall good times. Whether it was riding street in Kelowna in the freezing cold, days up the hill, watching his occasional wipeout or hanging out playing video games in "the old crackhouse". I'm sitting here trying to think of things to write about him and I'm overwhelmed by my thoughts. I'm sure everyone has their own memories of Chris that are probably similar to mine. We know he was a great guy and he has obviously touched many people. I'm sitting here in Taiwan and I know that right now there are many people in many places who are thinking of him. That is probably the best thing anyone can ask for. I really don't know what else to say that hasn't already been said. I will remember Chris Cayford. peace

February 2nd, 2004

Chris Cayford was a friend of mine. I rember the first time i met him, 6 years ago. For some reason I rember it clear as day. I was going to catch a no use for a name concert and the mad caddies with one of my best friends Mat Lindsey. I had never been to mats house before and there for never met his room mate. I walked in the door and the first thing i seen was a hoffman taj spray painted purple. I was stoked, it was the first one i had ever seen and i was stoked that there was a new rider in the area, at the time there might have been 10 riders between oliver and kelowna. I asked Matt whos bike it was and then Chris walked around the corner and sayed it was a taj. we hung out for a bit and chris pulled out a new movie he had bought, Primo - Made In Tiwan. we chilled and watched it for a bit. Then it was time to head to the show. There was not enough seats in the veichle and i rember Chris had to sit it the back behind the seat. it was funny watching giant Chris curl up in to a ball to fit back there. When we got to the show we meat up with Kyle Turqote and hung around. This is a funny story becouse it is also the first time i met aaron, i don't think i ever even told him this. Me and fletch were going to go and steel his toque becouse we thought he was a posser but Chris talked us out of it. Well I can't rember how the rest of the evning went other then it was a lot of fun. Over the years i had lots of other adventures with chris, going to concerts, snowboarding and ocationaly riding.

Well I am still in shock that such a good and young person is gone. Chris i hope that you are in the place you wanted to be. Rest In Peace

We rode the greatest pool in the woods, honestly in the woods, not in anyones yard. The X-air comp is next weekend, Miron, Dustin Guenther and I think Osato are coming and there are two guys from Hamilton in it, i imagine it will be pretty fun and all. Aaron news below

January something, 2004

In the last month I have rode four parks from the T1 trip, bought the worst car ever, swam in a river that is 40 degrees celsius, skidded through a red light, seen Metallica be upstaged by a little band from Oklahoma called the Flaming Lips, watched a million dollars burn up in mid air in the form of fireworks, stole first base with three girls (try kissing girls when they're about to hug you, it's really funny), been to a hip hop dance club, been vibed by other bmxers, rode a park that's at leat ten years older than me, given up on the idea of surfing, learned only two tricks, thought about 360ing a spine then realizing that i'd probably die, boardslid the worst car ever on dozens of speedbumps, refused to pay $8 an hour for internet, seen skate decks that cost $180, seen lee jeans that cost $430, filmed 7 tricks entirely by myself and searched for a decent fisheye lens high and low. Oh, and the Black Eyed Peas wear funny hats.-Aaron

Ok, so I'm in this place called surfer's paradise in australia, i think finally soon I'll get to go surfing, but not yet. I got out to ride with the Brisbane kids a couple days ago, and those kids rip! We rode a sweet empty pool, a school and a couple rad parks. They ride like turtles and stuff like that, hahaha. Anyways, made me think of how rad our scene is back home and how cool it is to have a crew to go out with all the time, I have to ride alone lots. I'm all out of internet time, sorry the site never gets updated but i'm in aistralia, so it just doesn't work that much.-Aaron

Travis here, i woke up this morning to snow which is probbly a good thing becouse i crashed and hurt my knee real ad yesterday and i shouldn't be riding. Well i have been in nelson for the past three days chilling out takeing some photos and riding. We rode nelson on saturday and castlegar yesterday it was good, lots of pictures. well not much else to say other then i think the riding portion of this trip is over becouse my knee some what resembles my ankel in swelling and there is snow out side. latter pictures will be up wendsday

November 8th, 2000 -Georgetown, Malaysia

I guess it's one day ahead where I am. So far we haven't made it out of Malaysia, the airline lost my bag, which had my wheels on it so that sucked but I get a bunch of insurance money to buy new stuff so it's cool. Hopefully I'll be able to get a dope video camera to film with. Malaysia is crazy, ther eis so much stuff to rise in the cities, ledges down stairs everywhere. I'm looking foreward to riding in Australia, the locals in Brisbane have offerred to show me around a bit so I'm going to hit that for a couple days and have some fun. The last couple days we were hanging out on this little island called Pangkor off the west coast, it's about 8 square kilometers and there are rad narrow indy roads all across the island, we rented motorcycles for ten bucks a day and ripped around, you could get them up to about 110 km/h on straight stretches and the speed bumps had transition so you could try to launch off them a bit. Everything her eis really cheap, it costs about ten bucks for three of us to stay in a decent hotel room and good meals are a buck or two. Anyways, you probably want to hear about riding, so I'll get off here. Props to Jordan for the Nelson deal, wish I could have been there.-Aaron

November 4th, 2003

November 2nd, 2003

The news, nelson jam was yesterday. i am sorry to say i didn't make it up there but several of our riders did. Like normal No bikes found the way to the podium. Jordon Hango Pulled second I did't talk to him for long but there was 54 people there and jordan killed all of them, other then tocoma travis who got first.

next week i am going to head to nelson, or kelowna, where ever the laz and hango solo are to shot some photos and stuff. I think aaron is venturing around the world right now so keep a look out for world wide updates.

Later, Travis

October 29th, 2003

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been really busy getting ready for my trip and to top it all off I got really sick yesterday. Nelson contest is this Saturday, hope you're all going, hopefully I'll be flying to LA that day but maybe not because of the wildfires down there, we'll have to see how that works out. There is a new video on the bmx Kelowna site featuring Mat Ridgeway among others so check it out. I've been talking to some guys in Brisbane who have offered to show me around a bit when I get there, so I'm excited for that and all the amazing parks that seem to be around New Zealand. Hoodies have been Delayed a bit, but we'll let you know. I'll try to update this as much as I can from the road but it might be kind of tough... we'll see.-Aaron

October 20th, 2003

There is a new BMX Kelowna page and it's looking very nice, the OK Central link to the left has been fixed accordingly. It seems Mat Ridgeway has done another ridiculous rail. If it's the one that I think they're talking about then it's probably the biggest rail anyone has ever done around here, but I guess only time will tell. Only twelve days until I leave Canada for a long time, so hopefully I will see all of you before I go. I still have some stuff left to sell, so ask me and I'll probably give you a deal that is too good for our shallow pockets.-Aaron

The new website will be done very soon.

October 16th, 2003

Here is the new hoodie logo

October 15th, 2003

Whoa, long time since an update. Monday Mat and I went down to Penticton, it was stupid and a bust, but in the end we did the hospital rail and I even did a one footed nosedive out (but didn't put a foot down so it still counts). Sam can ride summerland park like it's Coldstream or something. And for the big news:

Mat Ridgeway is now on the team. This is him pulling the hospital rail first try, more pictures and a bio when we get the new site up. We really couldn't resist picking Mat up, It's cool to have someone in Kelowna (gotta know your roots) and Mat is really good, and really fun to ride with.-Aaron

October 7th, 2003

Heres the deal, Every one always asks me if we make hoodies and i always reply they would cost too much. well not any longer. hoodies are avilible fore 30$ a pop but you have to prepay for them becouse they are still to coastly to make a big order. October 2nd, 2003

I've got a bunch of copies of the video now so please buy one or I won't like you. I also have one new shirt, which is probably the best shirt we've ever put out- black sleeve, grey body satellite 3/4. I know I might have told a few of you this but we have a new website in the works. Dustin at DMS Designs (www.dmsdesigns.ca) is in the process of putting together something dope for us. It will probably end up being www.nobikes.com, but who even knows. I only have a month left in this place, so hopefully I'll see everyone at the park.-Aaron

September 27th, 2003

Here's the scoop: we went to Hastings this morning, it was dope. I could not come of the ground, Sexsmith could.

September 27th, 2003

Andrew was in town this weekend, we rode Ben Lee friday night and Vernon stuff yesterday. Andrew went really high and so did Ridgeway; we also rode some crazy trails, I did a rad scorpion dirt grind in the smaller section and Darren Mirra showed everyone up pretty much. Andrew got his race on and ripped the race track for a bit. We shot a bunch of photos at Coldstream, which I have to get developed and find a scanner for. I think within the next little bit we might be getting a .com, but who really knows? Word from Andrew Quibel out in wherever Saskatchewan is that he went to the best concert ever... what that means I have yet to determine. Matt Lindsay sent me a picture from Taipei Stadium for the team section, it should be up tonight so check it out. Get this- after eight and a half years of riding I finally learned 360s. Figure that one out...-Aaron

ha ha ha i have the skills , -Travis

September 19th, 2003

I gave the team page a bit of a kick in the pants, so check it out, it's not done yet though, I'm going to get on the products page sometime, I'll let you know how it goes. There are a couple copies of the video at Outbound Cycle in Westbank now as well so if you're having troubles finding us you can get one there.-Aaron

September 19th, 2003

I've got some copies of the video if anyone wants one e-mail me at white_ford_bronco@hotmail.com.-Aaron

September 17th, 2003

Well, Modest Mouse ruled so much, definitely way more than I expected. My weekend also included half asleep grabbing the steering wheel making us swerve all over the place (this happenned multiple times), a pirate party (and my friend Mike's $35 pilot party suit, hitchiking with a Vietnam vet, a man overboard drill, wave pool, colossus (cabin fever- best movie ever), accidentally stealing shoes and absolutely no bike riding. I'm going riding tomorrow during the day- Ben Lee, see you there (this is possibly only addressed to Jeremy but he doesn't have internet, so not much of a point here). Travis has copies of the videos to send up here so maybe we will get them soon, as for me, I don't even have one right now.
-Aaron

September 14th, 2003

Currently making copies of the video so e-mail us and get a copy.

Visit us a lot? add no_bikes@hotmail.com to your MSN and talk to Aaron and Me and maybe the team guys too

Modest Mouse today. In the worst case scenario category of today, Wesley Willis died. Check this article out: http://www.epitonic.com/fishwrap/archive/ripwesleywillis_2003-08-22.html and go cry your self to sleep. Seriously, over 50 albums. That guy ruled. I got out and rode today but it rained and sucked. We still had fun. I'm going to add Matt Desson's rider feature tonight so please look at that.-Aaron

It is 911 2003 and the American people survived. They are a bunch of chickens sitting in there home with there guns hoping Osoma does not knock on there doors. Well I do not really know why I wrote that but I did. Any way the news, there is not too much going on in my life, except two days ago I began the long rehabilitation process. I can walk, slowly but it will come, some time after Christmas you might even see me pumping around one of the great bowls of British Columbia. We have been selling a few copies of the video so if you know any one who purchased a copy go over to their house, eat their food, hit on their sister, and watch the movie. I noticed that we have some extra stock sitting around so if you are interested in a medium yellow shirt for 10$, a Large red sweater for 15$ or an Extra large Grey Sweater for 15$ e-mail us no_bikes@hotmail.com. What else, we have some other newer shirts in stock as well. Well I am going to sit down and in vision where I am going in this ocean of ciaos and my be I will dream of the vert ramp on the nude beach on the Spanish Rivera. It is less then a year until Andrew and me will be enjoying the sun.

Hey, it's been a while but I guess I'm back. For the last almost month I was at a camp called Malibu which is in an inlet in the middle of nowhere about five hours North of Sechelt. Drew Mackie from Victoria was there as well driving boats, the only riding we did was on this little 16 inch bike with a coaster brake, it was fun though and that camp is totally amazing, you really have to go there to understand how beautiful it is. After I was done working I stopped off at Metro jam where everyone was, I think there was nine of us staying at Travis' house one night. Van Homan ruled and Karl Engstrom killed am. I learned how to skimboard a little bit, it was fun. Matt Lindsay just called me from Taiwan to see what's up, sounds like he's doing ok, but has nothing to ride. He made it out to the MacNeil premiere over there and he's had a couple interesting teaching jobs like cooking and sports classes. Matt's the best. Travis got 3rd at the Coquitlam contest apparently. The video is done and it's really good, i hope we can find a way to get some of it on the net but don't get your hopes up yet, I think we're selling them for like $15 or something cheap like that. Ask me about it or e-mail me when you want one (because you really do). I still havbe some shirts left, look for metro pictures maybe soon-Aaron

August 30th, 2003

Travis Sexsmith got 11th in ameture at metro, not to shabby. he pulled a manule on top slant wall that no one in pro could even get close to, so props out to Sexsmith. Not to much other no bikes news other then buy the video

August 28th, 2003

Kay folks day one of Metro jam is over and no bikes kicked ass, Sexsmith quailified 6th place in am with an amazing run. toothpick to manul and a 720 over the spin.

August 16th, 2003

Howdy, Travis here, News andrew and jordan are in k-town right now finishing up filming for the video. The video is almost done and it is looking good, other then my part but i'am a cripple. See ya latter

August 7th, 2003

Yesterday I headed down to Summerland to visit Travis and capture the last footage I filmed for the video. I got a good look at Andrew's part which is almost done, and the start of Jordan's part. We edited my part a bit and it's almost done, Travis' part is done, the video will be done in time for Metro, so if you're down there we will probably show it at Travis' house. I'm going to tell you this now, you will want a copy- put it this way, even I have a half decent part, and everyone else is better than me. Jordan and Andrew are finishing up their parts in Nelson right now, which you know will turn out amazing and we're still looking for kelowna footage, if you have any riding footage of Kelowna people, or Kelowna spots e-mail me, basically, Evan, e-mail me if I don't talk to you.... So that's the news, everyone go to Metro Jam.-Aaron

August 4th?, 2003

Travis broke his leg and/or dislocated his ankle in Victoria, he and andrew filmed some stuff, but i think the leg thing was where Travis had the most fun. Dave helped me finish filming my part for the video today, I'm not saying anything though, you'll just have to buy it. Dave also unleashed the greatest skate trick i've ever seen and came this || close to 50/50ing the top of the fence out of the bank, don't tell any skaters though.-Aaron

August 1st, 2003

Today was the greatest of my short life. Well ,maybe not, but i did learn three tricks and do a no footed cancan, ok, maybe some of you don't get that but the last time i did that trick was two years ago and i put an 8 inch gash in my shin all the way to the bone. Oh yeah, so I shredded with Dave and Danny today at Coldstream, they were destroying the hips like old people in a dark room with lots of foreign obstacles on the hard floor, Danny was doing nosegrabs over coping and Dave landed some kinds of grabs over coping too, I don't know, I lost track, those dudes are too rad. Travis is in Victoria with Andrew and Jarad filming and hanging out (here's hoping they have separate beds), ok, Travis apparently isn't in Victoria because Matt and Mat are at his house, ok, Travis is in Victoria because for some reason he trusted his house to two westbank kids and Jarad. Jarad, if you're reading this, you're our only hope, try to keep them out of trouble (actually, that was an unfair dis and has nothing to do with the actual intelligence levels of afformentioned Westbank kids, I think). I ordered some more cowboy shirts, they should be here Thursday, get one before they sell out like the last ones did. Actually, come to think of it, get anything just please buy one of our shirts because nobody ever does you jerks (previous comment was not intended to dissuade you from buying our products, please feel free, welcome and emotionally pressured to). Tomorrow night I'll be in Alan Jackson heaven.-Aaron

July 29th, 2003

New Bike Tomorrow.

July 27th, 2003

Sorry for slacking on the news, it only happens when I don't have a bike. Just wait until I leave for Malibu- three weeks without an update kids, I'll understand if you all die... I ordered my bike a couple days ago, it should be here next week and then we'll shred. Andrew is in town this weekend and every kid is heading down to Vancouver next weekend, but I have a wedding to go to. This weekend I was at a bachelor party and I got to shoot a gun. Beat that, suckers. Oh, if any of you guys are still in town Thursday night, go see Avoiding the Hunter play at St. Michael's Cathederal, I guarantee you'll have fun- I'd tell you why but I'm lazy. I'm eating now, bye.-Aaron

July 21st, 2003

Well, here we are. This weekend was very nice. Everything started off Friday when a bunch of us went to Kaledon to ride as close to a body of water as possible, then we wasted the rest of the day but we got cake so it was ok. Friday night like eighty dudes stayed at my house and we had to wake up early- that sucked. We showed up to the contest and all of these Coquitlam guys were buzzing around so I didn't want to ride and look like a fool. I met Terrace, who was this odd kid who can handplant, but wouldn't do one on the tower of power; he has a journal, it's a digimon. Apparently Ryan Mountain wa ssupposed to be on the mic and was for about two seconds but then coquitlam fled the scene like OJ Simpson (but not in bronco), never to be seen by me again. Robin Terry got to take over those duties and did a fine comical job, I have to give him a shout out because we go back a while and he's a rad guy. The contest went off and Geistlinger didn't even win, he crashed the backflip though, so he had it coming. Lots of people did cool stuff but way better stuff happenned later so I don't even care about the jam. Chris put on a good show though, he's by far the best red headed contest organizer. So like 12 of us head up to vernon and Sexsmith shuts the session down at every stop. You already know what tricks he did, so just buy the video when it's done and try to watch it more than Jeremy will. Jordan and Andrew both threw some original lines in the mix, which is what counts in the end, Andrew did this weird peg bonking table trick out of the mini over the hip at Armstrong, but you'll be able to see this on the video when it comes out. Did I mention the video? Well it will come out soon, and be cheap enough that even bus stop kids can pool their money together to buy one (I'm sorry, that was just to easy). Ok, back on track, Chris from Revelstoke is still the team manager and is still really awesome; he has the best stories ever or maybe he just tells them way better than anyone, ever. We're in the final stages of filming for the video, and that's all we're going to do ever until it's done or we die (or possibly both).-Aaron

July 18th, 2003

Ok, so the news hasn't been updayed in like four months because i didn't have a computer, but rest assured for all ten of you who read it, I don't slouch. Today there's like eighty people staying at my house for the winfield contest, it's pretty rad. Chris from Revelstoke is here with stories about Cracky Jan who wears a tie as a headband, runs up trees and punches pop cans up in the air and Odd Job Bob who has one arm and drives a standard, and a taxi while doing speedy quick u-turns. We decided that he is the team manager because he is so sweet. Today we also decided to kick way more people off the team than usual, so with his new team manager powers Chris kicked Travis off the team and now our video will be three minutes long and edited on two vcrs with only footage of Chris talking and Cracky Jan running up trees. Andrew and Jordan are here and so is Robin Terry, Travis Sexsmith is coming tomorrow and I still have to borrow people's bikes. I'm tired so I'm going to go to sleep but take a casual peek as I go by my brother's room to see if Andrew has kicked Travis out of his bed yet.-Aaron

July 7th, 2003

New pictures! Andrew's section has a few new ones as well as Penticton, Kelowna and Snakes and ladders. Photos from the jam soon.-Aaron

July 6th, 2003

Ok, this won't be as big as it should be but I'm tired and on top of that I have no bike (how's that for a bit of irony) so I shouldn't have to write anything extraordinary here. Everything started Friday when I woke up and paid $14 for the 2-hip prizes and we headed to summerland to finish ramps. We went out to pizza hut for dinner then mine and Jordan's bikes got stolen and we had to drive around for miles and talk to cops and sweet crazy old guys who wanted to beat the theifs up with baseball bats. This wa sno fun, but kind of funny. Then a bit later the dudes came walking up the street and we got a cop to catch them and they got arrested and went to jail after pretty much giving themselves up. This I enjoyed, especially considering that if I'd had the chance to beat their faces in it most likely would have worked the other way and I'd be a lot more sore right now. Unfortunately they had already unloaded the bikes somewhere so screw them and in some small way I hope they get hit by a large bus. So the next day we had the jam and it was the best day ever. I hope that everyone had as much fun as I did (riding other people's bikes). Notable tricks came from Chris Geistlinger (wallride-barspin, roman plants, downside ice the pool quarter, over ice the sub), Jordan Hango (toothpick the pool quarter), Cory Fester (nosepick sub, g-turns across the pyramid and the longest hang five to no footed nose manual ever down a big hill and across a few blocks after the premiere), Andrew Lazaruk (manual up the wall to fufanu, x-up walltaps, walltap to fakie and wallriding up with his front peg on top of the 6.5 foot wallride), Matt Desson and Kevin Swain doing huge wallrides and one guy from Kamloops whose name I don't know who did wallride to turndowns and some other cool stuff. We ended up giving so much stuff away, Matt Ridgeway won footdown for a set of odyssey bars. The videos went well, I think the Salvation vid is my new favourite ever, it was so well done. Autem played some songs and Tom and Mack tried to relate to a bunch of dirty bmxers, those guys rule. They played an awesome set especially considering some kids could have cared less and just wanted to see the videos. I'm going to go enjoy my break from riding and hope that it's a short one. Travis and I were going to go to Vancouver next weekend but now that's all up in the air.-Aaron

June 28th, 2003

So yesterday Andrew, Matt, Travis and I headed out to ride Merrit and Kamloops. We rolled up to the park and there was a bunch of locals there, so we rode with them all night. They were all pretty rad, and good too. They took us to a bunch of 10 foot fullpipes, and the real gem, a five foot metal half pipe. One of the locals, Evan I think his name was, did a rad peg stall in it and we just carved around. Kamloops was way too hot today, like brain melting hot. Andrew aired this 12 foot sketchy bank/ tranny wall way too high and held all the glory that is map boy. Pictures real soon.-Aaron

June 26th, 2003

I met Cory Stratychuk a couple days ago, he's really good. There's a show tonight on the corner of Rutland and McCurdy, Mico (John Stewart of Ride Guide fame's band) is here from Calgary along with Rocket's Red Glare from Ontario; Autem is opening. I'm really hoping to have copies of Snakes and Ladders #2 for the Summerland jam, I've got some pictures going and maybe some articles. Who knows. The Winfield Jam is shaping up to be quite the event, lots of dudes coming up from Vancouver. July 19th, don't forget that. I've been putting in some pretty solid 12 hour work days lately so basically I'm a sucker and my hands are all nice and pretty now from not riding very much. It's completely summer now so get ready to piss off heaps of skaters at Ben Lee, or wait till it's really hot and they're all at home hanging with mom because that place is a freaking oven. Once again let me express my distaste towards whoever burned down our quarterpipes, now i have to do work and that is never good. Who really knows about this weekend? -Aaron

June 24th, 2003

Autem is for sure playing a set at the video night. There is a map of how to get to everything in the Jam section now. I got the new T1 zine in the mail today, it's real good and small in stature. This wekeend Andrew is coming from Nelson and we're going to go ride Kamloops and Merrit hopefully, Matt is back from Taiwan for two weeks and Andrew is staying all week until the jam, I'm sure he'll come in handy with the ramps. That's it for now, I'm going riding.-Aaron

June 21st, 2003

Animal stuff came yesterday, a few videos and a couple copies of Looking Glass, which is really, really nice. I have new shirts in stock with a cowboy logo; you should love them if you are sane or cool in any way at all. I'll put pictures up when i can get them, which is probably never, so don't hold your breath. Travis bought a video camera, so we should have no problem finishing the new video (and now we don't have to make entire videos on other people's cameras). Apparently someone burned down our two six foot quarters, so we have to build something new, but we have a bunch of wood so it shouldn't be too much of a problem (we just actually have to get it done, that's it), and apparently we might get the Macneil video (though i know nothing about this) for the premiere and Autem might play a set (www.mp3.com/autem, check it out, it's real good). So for right now the world is full of mights, and everything seems to be piecing together nicely.-Aaron

June 18th, 2003

More stuff in the mail today. Ten pack sent a bunch of stuff and Odyssey sent the most stuff ever. I bet i have about $1500 worth of stuff to give away, and that's just from those two and props; no word of a lie.-Aaron

June 16th, 2003

Yesterday Shawn came up all day and we had fun skating and such. Moneen played late last night and left us wondering how they're still alive. At one point Kenny threw his guitar clear across the room and hit the hippie in the back. This only confirms that those guys put on the wildest show of life. Saturday night s.t.r.e.e.t.s. played as well and obviously were quite rad, they even wrote a song about Sonar (the vancouver club where they always premiere videos) called "So Not Gnar", after they played there and just fought. Genius. I got a big package from Props today for the jam full of many videos and some stickers. Rad. We're all a bit excited around here because Matt Lindsay gets back from Taiwan on the weekend. That's it for now.-Aaron

June 13th, 2003

The Rider Feature section has been updated with what I like to call "The Ideal MSN Conversation". This is just a quick demo of how rad my conversations get when I'm bored.

June 12th, 2003

I've got a new t-shirt design done, they should be ready in time for the jam and they're probably the raddest shirts possible, but you'll have to wait and see. I got a confirmation from Ten Pack today that they're sending stuff for the jam, so that means that everyone on the poster is confirmed and I'm just waiting on 1664 and Iahmpereal. This should mean lots of stuff to give away. Look on the Summerland jam link for more details.-Aaron

June 10th, 2003

The info for Summerland is up. June 7th, 2003

Ok, so today Andrew was in town so we headed down to Oliver to look for some spot that's a secret. We probably saw every house in that town, Travis and I found seven dry pools but they were all square with no tranny. So thanks to Oliver kid who gave us bad directions and us collectively for thining we could find what we were looking for on directions that we knew were bad. After that we headed to the Kaledon mini and things started taking a turn for the better. We shredded a bit and swam in the cold cold lake a couple times. We had a bit of fun with cars and I sprayed sunsceen on Mat's car at 120 km/h. This was awesome... we rode mini banks a bit and andrew did some dope tricks like sprocket barspin to 180 and some that were way better than that because he is really good. Jarad came out for a bit too. Yeah, most of the night was pretty uneventful with the exception of some good tormenting fun.-Aaron

June 2nd, 2003

No news in a while hey... Well at least for me a week or so is pretty bad. Matt, Kevin and I rode a bit today, we met a couple guys from Jasper who had just moved here. So many new people it just doesn't make sense... So we've been hearing some rumours about a Metro Jam in Vancouver, rumour is that Jay wants to have a series of jams at different parks and have the classic metro jam ramps up for one as well. Note that this is only a rumour that may or may not be valid... Andrew is coming up this weekend I guess so we're going to get a session or two in, Travis acquired a new secret to keep so we might go ride there. I guess Robin Terry bought like a three million dollar camera, so I was actually planning on killing him and taking it. We may be making even more new shirts. Wow, aren't we awesome. In Jordan Hango news, well, there isn't any, but he's still really good and probably better than you, that is, unless you are really good too, then I envy you. In Powers Creek news, screw dirtbikers. I hate to generalize like that but just watch me. In related news, Nate Wessel is the Mike V of bmx, and he kind of looks like he's riding a dirtbike too. Nothing against Wessel, I just can't stand to watch any of his video parts and I can only give those reasons as to why. I'm sure he's very nice though. On that note, have a nice day.

buy a shirt -Aaron

May 29th, 2003

I had some time on my hands so i made the front page and another one for Andrew that looks like this:

May 24th, 2003

It's 3:30 am so you're going to be treated to some of my long-windedness. Last weekend in Princeton was great, the highlights being seven of us having moustaches and four of us wrangling a cow. Just right now I decided that I actually like The Dismemberment Plan, as opposed to my previous lukewarm stance. We went to some club tonight and this girl totally liked dave ("You're the most stylish guy I've seen in a long time" "you're HOT"), but dave being dave just nodded his head and didn't say anything. I picked up a copy of the new Dig and there is a picture of Dom jumping over a barrol on the exact hip pictured below, but I'm willing to bet that Travis was goign bigger. If you haven't read the bmx kelowna site lately they found some sweet stuff in Merrit (other than cowboys and country music festivals)- even a metal half pipe (Van Homan eat your heart out). I'm really trying to get to Vancouver to see Built to Spill but my family doesn't like me, either that or I need to buy a car. Oh, for any of you who have heard little bits about it, I'm in the final stages of putting together the Summerland Jam- I've got seven or eight pretty good sponsors probably, just have to work out insurance (or no insurance), then it's a go. Also note that this will be the best time of your life so you'd better be there for it and it's on July 5th. Check this page for updates- I'll try to put the course layout up sometime including all the extra ramps that you had better come ride when we build them. I popped my back tire almost two weeks ago and still haven't fixed it, pretty rad hey... oh yeah, a couple weeks ago someone named Brian Tunney came in to my work, I have no idea if it was the Brian Tunney you're thinking of because I just saw his waiver form, plus we're way out here in the sticks and nobody comes here. Bye.-Aaron

May 19th, 2003

Well the K-Town boys are outy today we had a good trip, lots of riding lots of shredding. We got some Footy for the new video it is going to be sick. Here is some shoots to tie you over. Travis sex smith is good. Travis

Matt Ridgeway

May 15th, 2003

Story of the day... Matt and crew called Travis to find out where his house is so they could stay there, he told them they had the wrong number so they hung up and never called back. So now it's 11:13 and no sign of any riders...

May 14th, 2003

All i have to say is that i have exams all next week, they are going to be hard. in other news there is going to be 7 rippers staying at my house to ride this weekend. I'am not going to study!

May 14th, 2003

Ok, so I got a wisdom tooth out this morning and my mouth is full of blood; when I talk, I look like Jean Chretien because the whole left side of my mouth is still frozen. Anyways, the first rider feature is up with Matt Ridgeway as the victim. I guess Travis Sexsmith got 5th in am at the Parksville contest- more amazingly though, he 360'd that spine (6 foot spine, 18 inch deck). Check out BC BMX (http://members.shaw.ca/bcbmx/) for a few pictures. Other than that, I'm out of here though I don't know what I'll do since I can't even eat. Oh yeah, you should be able to get shirts if you're in Vancouver fr5om Travis by the weekend- e-mail us if you want one.

May 13th, 2003

I know you've all been waiting anxiously to hear news so I'll let you in on what's up lately. I updated the site a little, there is now a ride feature section, which has nothing to do with the team, just people we like. You may also notice a link to the Summerland Jam page, it doesn't work as of now but it may very soon... still working out the details, getting the job done and such. Did anyone else see the end of survivor? I'm still trying to figure out how he jet skied from Brazil to New York without dying... The other day I wa sout riding with Matt Desson and he had this to say, " I wonder why they put those lights on the crosswalk... probably so the blind people can cross the street"... never a dull moment when riding with Matt. I have way too much time on my hands so expect lots of updates in the weeks to come. Travis, Shawn and I may be heading up to Nelson in a couple weeks to film for the video, no promises though. Ten bucks says we can film an entire parts worth for Andrew and Jordan in like two hours. I have to get a wisdom tooth out tomorrow, so my life will probably suck. They keep telling me I'll be ok in like an hour but this is the dentist talking... I'm pretty sure you learn to lie in dentist school, like lying 101 or something. This weekend I get to head to Princeton for a Young Life conference, Young Life is a Christian ministry that I work with- kind of like a youth group but different in principle. Anyways, I'll get to see tonnes of old friends from all over and there's a five and a half foot mini ramp to skate there- hopefully I'll get to bring my bike but we're driving Dave's '76 Mercury Cougar down so I don't know if there's room. Princeton has a new park too so I"ll let you know what that's about next week. I got accepted to a school in New Zealand so I'm going there for sure next year for six or seven months, I may travel through Southeast Asia so I might get to visit Matt wherever he is. I picked up the new Square One video yesterday, there is so much amazing riding in there but i didn't really enjoy the way it was put together. Not that it was bad, just that if you watch any skate video the editing and production is way better. There is a new skate mag out of Vancouver called Color, It's really nice looking and Dave Stew has a four page interview in the next issue- not about skateboarding but about how the next trend is kids dressing like pirates, complete with several fashion shots of Dave and Johnny Rad from streets, only Dave.... finally, the puffin- most entertaining of all birds, has become extinct

Team News

Andrew Lazaruk Andrew has been riding lots lately and Progressing quite nicely. He went to Cuba not too long ago and when he came back his teachers told him not to come to class any more because he had missed too much. How's that for an education system... I think Andrew will be up to ride Kamloops at the end of June.
Jordan Hango Though it's hard to believe, Jordan got even better than he already was. He is probably better than you and he is definitely better than me. They have started building the new Castlegar park so soon Jordan will have one more park to destroy. Hopefully Jordan will be out here in June to get some Photos for the Rookies section of Chase- this should be in not the next issue but the one after.
Travis Burroughs It's been a long haul but Travis is almost done school and will soon be back riding in Summerland. A bunch of Kelowna locals are going down this weekend to stay at his house and ride, Travis knows more street spots in Vancouver than 15 year olds have hit on him, This is not so obvious though.
Jarad Gibbenhuck I haven't seen much of Jarad lately but I can assure you that he still probably rides every day and has more fun riding than anyone
Jay Fletcher i tried to talk to Jay on msn but his dad was on for some reason.
Travis Sexsmith I still have neither talked to nor met Travis, but i think there was something written about him on Feeble BMX a while ago. Regardless, he is good enough to hit the roof at Nelson so that's ok by me.
Aaron Gates I fill these pages with stories from my life that you probably could care less about all the time, so just read that.
Matt Lindsay is still in Asia somewhere, but he's been filming lots for the video apparently.

Buy a shirt.-Aaron

May 10th, 2003

Big news today i guess. I have a whole bunch of new shirts with the new logo, check the products page for details. Buy one and save me from selling my shoes and dignity. I also got some copies of Snakes and Ladders #1 made, so maybe I'll throw one in for the first few people who order a shirt through the site. The Winfield contest is set for July 19th, the Summerland contest will go July 5th if it happens (it probably will in some form). We'll post details on the site but we have some cool plans for this...

May 7th, 2003

For the record, I also saw Tony Hawk today but he was doing a demo at the skatepark. For the past few days I was trekking through the Kootenays. I had the pleasure of watching Jordan and Andrew own the Nelson park and the displeasure of realizing how much I suck... Jordan wallrode behind a six foot quarter with a five foot deck... is that even possible?! Andrew also did some rad stuff like oppsite wallride to lookback. Hopefully I'll have some pictures up soon. We also went through Nakusp and they have a nice little park there, it has a cool 4 foot bowl and some nice hips, along with a bunch of other stuff to grind mostly. We hung out at some hot springs with hippies and I read a 400 page book in the course of all that driving. The Canucks also got slayed and I was quite sad. They had better win tomorrow.-Aaron

May 3rd, 2003 1:00 am

Big news for bmx today, me and Allan where riding the streets of van today, and we saw Tony Hawk. that is it he was walking down the street and it was like oh look there thats tony hawk. end of news

May 2nd, 2003

This is a very important message. If you know where the new spot in Summerland is, DO NOT GO THERE. In the past few weeks there has been seriouse vandlism there that is un connected to the riding spot, But Becouse of resent riding activity there the vandlism has been conected to the bikers. You risk being incarserated for crimes you didn't commet if you go there. DO NOT GO THERE

April 28th, 2003

We've got a new logo done and it looks like this:

I'm going to get a bunch done on 3/4s and t-shirts, they should be done in a couple weeks or before I die. It looks kind of bad on here because it's all compressed but really it's very nice. I'll post some pictures when they're all done-Aaron

April 27th, 2003

Here’s the news. Today Travis Sexsmith was officially welcomed to the No Bikes team. We also got a once in a lifetime chance today, we rode a 20 foot full pipe. I took a lot of pictures but there was so much dust in the air they didn’t work, And Travis S was pushing 10:30 in the pipe sick!

Here's more news, Yesterday we had a good session at Ben Lee before it rained, I finally pulled feeble to 180 on the sign and Nolan filmed it for the Deviate video. Mat did the ten stair rail because apparently it's less scary than the ledge. That makes no sense. There were so many kids on bikes there... there are always so many kids on bikes there now. It seems like the balance has been upset. Watch out! In related news, I still don't go there much. I'm heading out to Nelson on Saturday so hopefully I see some of you who are reading this. I'll be at the park Saturday then we're heading off to hike to interesting places and sleep in the woods, we being me, Dave S. and his girlfriend plus whomever else we can convince to spend five days with us.-Aaron

April 23rd, 2003

One thing i forgot to mention, we went up to Travis' house and to the amazement of everyone in the driveway and surrounding yard lay a total of sixteen cars, some working, some not so much.... The OK Central section now links to Mat and Mike's BMX Kelowna site, check it out, lots of pictures and updated often.-Aaron

April 22nd, 2003

Well, we made a trip out to the new park in Lumby and it's definitely worth the drive. Not only do you get to drive past a bunch of black cows, but the park has stuff like a 4.5 foot spine mini and every weird obstacle you've never thought of. Yesterday we went out and rode Shawn's new spot in Summerland. If you're looking to find it, good luck, we were following Jay out there and we even had a tough time. Matt and Travis both pulled a monster wall tap and Jay was boosting the hips real nice. Matt Ridgeway got really good and started doing tricks like skid to 270 manual, crankflip in. I got to ride the big wall which was pretty much the highlight of my life. Shawn hooked me up with a shirt from his new batch, they're really nice so you should buy one and support companies that really care about bmx. Aversion is carrying Dirty Hippie, or you can find it through Shawn and his website. I'm going to go mentally prepare to watch the hockey game.-Aaron

March 27th, 2003

Updates today. A bunch of pictures in Snakes an ladders. Really big and long loading. There are also new pictures in the kelowna section. Thanks to Laura for scanning everything

March 26th, 2003

The meeting went quite well thanks to every one. Rumour has it there is going to be a Summerland park contest. and i had a great session with Jarad at the ditch today, the ditch is now wet. Below is a pic of me from the ditch.

March 26th, 2003

Okay it is the day of the meeting. It is 3:30 at the comunity center. if not enough bikers show up it is going to suck, So be there. By the way in penticton Come today or i will kill you, if you live out side of penticton kelowna area i won't kill you.

March 25th, 2003

Beards are the new black.

March 24th, 2003

Hey all, just a few bits here. Andrew and Andrew were up from Nelson on othe weekend so we got some riding in at Coldstream. I got a speedfing ticket and blew out my back tire making for quite the expensive day. The new park in Lumby is finished, it's about 20 minutes from Coldstream, adding to the string of amazing parks in the okanagan. The park has a four foot spine, this is all I know so far. We're throwing around the idea of having a contest at the summerland park this summer; the idea is to bring in the two six foot quarter pipes from Jay's house and build/fix some other stuff so there would be a wallride and a sub in addition to the normal park layout. We would appreciate some feedback here, just so we know if people would come. Think it's a good idea? Think we're retarded for even considering? Let us know with an e-mail (no_bikes@hotmail.com). Did anyone see Michael Moore last night at the oscars? I really can't get enough of that guy... Rumour has it that Saddam Hussein rides bmx. Saddam hasn't really been killing people all this time, he's been shredding his backyard ramp while his body doubles give him the bad rep. Heard he does a mean invert. My friend Laura got a job at a bakery and you wouldn't believe the real name for American Bismarcks (involving an N-bomb) Anyways, she's cool for knowing that. This news has Rambled for far too long.-Aaron

March 23rd, 2003

I went to the permier for the new Square One video last night; it's one of the craziest videos I have seen, Cory Martinez shreds. I don't remember too much else, I drank a few too many. also yesterday we went to the mini banks on cambie and rode with Axel jurgens. He rules.

March 21st, 2003

i am dumb the first meeting is at the penticton trade and convention center around the side at the picker rail(important) at 2:45 wendsday the second at the Comunity center in meeting room 3 at 3:30 see you there

March 20th, 2003

If you live in the Okanagan and you ride a bike there is no place you would rather be then the first major design meeting for the new penticton, Riverside park. I have played a big role in getting this park to not only except bmx but to have it built around it. it is very important that every BMXer and all of the friends attened the first disghn meeting. my goal is for the bmxer to out number the skate boarders so we make our presentce known and to have a true outdoor skate park for bikes. There will be a pre meeting for the bikers attending this meeting at about 3 next wendsday to discuse exsacly waht we want before going in to the meeting the place for this will be annouced soon, but most likly the skate park. If there is any questions contact No Bikes or feel free to call me at 604 454 1613 peace out.

March 17th, 2003

There is a show tomorrow night in Kelowna at the grey barn. Autem and Bend Sinister are playing among others, both these bands rock. If that's not incentive enough, Jordan Guthrie is putting the show on and he rides; you should support him so he doesn't go broke. Andrew and Andrew should be in town from Nelson this weekend so watch out for them. Mat and Matt are enjoying Vancouver right now (they're all matts to me-Travis). Mat did the Mike Mckinlay rail in winfield.-Aaron

March 16th, 2003

It was a short stint for the Port Moody indoor park; last night was the final bike night. But some good came out of the evening. No team is complete with out some one from Port Coquitlam (sp) so their is a new face on no bikes and it is going to confuse the hell out of all you. I will post the name and some pictures with in the next few days. -Travis-

March 11th, 2003

After putting some zine stuff in the Kamloops section, I noticed that it had disappeared. Click the Snakes and Ladders link to find it.There are a tonne of new updates, including rider bios and some new pictures of Mat Ridgeway up in the kelowna section-Aaron

March 9th, 2003

OK, so all of you who missed Three Inches of Blood and STREETS should be feeling the deep pain of regret right now. There was an arm locked counter-clockwise mosh spin. And STREETS was there... just one shout out this time, actually this is the first one ever- Hey Matt, I'm going to make it to New Zealand soon after all it looks like, hope you've been doing lots of riding over there ,wherever "there" is.... So here's the good news. Travis opened up his camera to find one gear dislodged and fixed it without even knowing what he was doing. If he was London Drugs he could charge $300 for that service. So what does this mean... shirts. Soon, well maybe not too soon because i don't really ever get things done in a timely manner. One new addition to the site is this: back in the day like two months ago i made a zine, then lost half the master, then hated my life, but i still have all the articles so I'll post them every once in a while in one of the useless sections of the site. Like Kamloops. The Kamloops section sucks. There will be an article in there in like five minutes so check it out.

Here's a hot picture from back in the day.-Aaron

March 3rd, 2003

Just a quick update here, My friends Tom, Mack and Chaad have a band called Autem. They play really good instrumental indy rock and just finished recording an album. You should go check out some of their songs at www.mp3.com/autem sorry, i don't know how to make links, I just write this stuff. For any of you who forgot, there's a Three Inches of Blood show this Saturday at the OK Mission Hall. Miss this and skip out on the best night of your life.-Aaron

Feb 28, 2003

I updated the ok north and south parts today. the articles suck. i will be at home for a week on the 9th. and in nelson on the 7th 8th and 9th. Fletch if you want to come call me or i will write 4:20 all over your car with mayo

Feb 27, 2003

Nothing much happens over here, it's supposed to snow today though. Oh yeah, Matt Desson got a new frame- MacNeil Heaton. From what i hear it's trail building season again; Black Mountain has already been sessioned and Powers Creek is in progress. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do some digging... it's been a while. Here's another screen form the video- Andrew doing a sprocket stall on the sketchy wallride at Summerland park.

Shawn should have a new order of shirts done soon so buy some. Check out the Dirty Hippie site for details. We've been slacking a bit around here as far as shirts go, I still have two left so I may let them go for a bit cheaper, Travis has sweaters down on the coast as well. We're hoping to get another batch out before both of us die. We do have new logos. Also check out the news entries below for a great example of spelling and grammar (this is the joke that never gets old in my head). On a somewhat related note, I was reading through an old issue of Ride yesterday and I found an up front article entitled "What's in Colin Winkelman's pockets". Conclusion: Ride used to be way sweeter.

-Aaron

Feb 25, 2003

Well Aaron left the coast on friday moarning. by friday after noon it was sunny and for the first time in 4 mounths all the psrks were dry. i am going for brek fast.

Feb 20, 2003

check out the nelson link to your left. It goes to our buddy Andrew Quibell zine on nelson. i linked it to our site becouse i don't live neer nelson so his zine is ten time ours.

Feb 18, 2003

News, Aaron will be in van this week staying at my house. So hopefully we shot a bit for the new video. any one who wants can come down and crash at my house, just through me an e-mail no_bikes@hotmail.com. peace out i got to get all of my home work done so i can ride today with gates. I think matt lindsay has joined the chinese millitary and has his eyes set on the take over of Canada!!

Feb 17, 2003

Haven't updated in a while here so i figured i'd throw a new screen from the video up- Jordan only had a short part in the last one but it has stuff like this in it... he'll hopefully have a full part in our next video, due out at the end of summer. If all the stuff we've been hearing is true it's going to be bloody unbelieveable

ok, so to explain this, he's transfering about four or five feet back to that wall, riding down the wall and landing in the wedge.

In other news, Travis was up a couple days ago, i think for the first time ever there was more kids on bikes at Ben Lee than skateboards... believe it. Anyways, kids were shredding. Apparently Rob Sigaty is back in Nelson and the park may see some improvements. Three Inches of Blood plays kelowna March 8th, better go.

February 8th

Just a quick one here, I'm heading down to Vancouver in a week and a bit to do some riding with Travis and whoever's around. It's sunny here but I'm doing my homework.

What is it? Like February 2nd? I'm not sure...

Today Travis, Jordan, Andrew and Jarad were in town and we hooked up with Matt and Mat to go hit some spots. the original intention was to go to Coldstream but apparently it was under a couple inches of snow. For odd reasons we ended up riding Winfield's park (who knew it was even still there) and had a really fun session. Andrew did a ridiculously big transfer and Travis (the god of bmx?) hovered around the park busting out some dope tricks (Smiths up a ledge, 540 tap the big bank- yeah!). Jarad double pegged a rail there and it beats me why Matt Desson hasn't landed a tailwhip yet. After that we looked for some stuff to ride and ended up at city park pedaling hard to hit the hip in the waterpark, andrew busted out an icepick and sprocket 180 on the high fence and we all kept going around in circles to hit the hip. After a small break we headed over to Mount Boucherie and set up the best bank to sub of my life. After many racer like sprints, Jordan executed a fine fufanu to icepick and mat pulled some great icepicks too. Travis left for home with Jarad after that and Jordan did a ten stair handrail in the dark.-Aaron

Jan. 2nd, 2003

Today's news is short but totally awesome. Tegan and Sara are playing in Kelowna on January 14th, I don't remember if i like their music but they are totally cute.

Dec. 28th, 2002

Hope you all had a great time celebrating the birth of christ (maybe?). Did you know that in the traditional pagan holiday the christmas tree is a fallac symbol (sp?)? it's snowing outside right now, which really sucks but it's kind of nice at the same time. Nothing sets the mood like a good blanket of white. i'm working on a zine, it'll only be 8-12 pages and will probably be quite a mess (which is intentional, don't ge tme wrong). I'll post something up here when it's done, which could be any time. Apparently Dom Mach is getting married and moving back to Kelowna; this is what the rumour mill says but I dare say it is reliable. There was an awesome show here on boxing day with Autem, Jon Rae Fletcher, The Metic, The Blacklist and Dan Moxon from bend sinister's acoustic group. A few of these bands are in on the Vancouver scene now, do yourself a favour and check them out if you can. I also got the chance to pick up Bend Sinister's new album and it's pretty amazing. Instrumental and really technical indy rock if you've never had the pleasure. I was going through Feeblebmx.com and apparently we are a popular link, this is kind of funny to me as I genuinely thought that nobody ever saw this site. So nothing really happenned to me over christmas that was all that great, i threw up six times for no reason at a christmas party, that was great i think... we went to the ditch and had an awesome session, i sat on cacti and broke travis' camera, but did some tricks i was really happy with and we built a vert lip for next time. Thanks for the rad session guys. Everyone have an awesome new years and don't drive wasted, hope you all get kissed at midnight by a cute girl (i assume that bike riders are all guys, pretty sweet hey...)-Aaron

Dec. 20th, 2002

I read a best and worst list at www.tiredandhomeless.cjb.net and it seemed pretty fun so I decided to make my own.-Aaron
------best of 2002-------
Etnies Foreward- So it had some hype... who cares, it was amazing and it actually had some production quality...
Faction-They make fun of Thrasher. This is enough.
Fubar- Not only is it a fake documentary about bangers... our government paid for it
Out Cold- Snowboarding+beer+hot girls=genius
Extreme Ops- Out Cold+terrorists+truth or dare=worth seeing many times
OJ Simpson jokes- Plan before you murder.
Baby Skeletons- Think about it, huge head, little hands...
Skateboarder hissy fits.
Andrew W.K.- musical genius in a greasy human cannister.
Six pegs, eight brakes, techity tech clang clang bonk.-dope
The word dope.-again, I can't stress this enough...
Old school shredding/old school style.-who cares if it's not cutting edge, they're having way more fun than you.
Dirt Brothers/Vic Murphy/doing the same tabletop for 12 years.-see old school shredding
Bowling For Columbine.
Ice Money as always.

-------The worst of 2002--------
I was feeling way more bitter when i wrote this but I really only had four significant disses, perhaps I'll add more later.
Etnies/timebomb- make tonnes of money of off riders with one company and make tonnes of money off of bashing riders with another.
Little Devil- To put this one in perspective lets think about the last time that they came up with a substantially new design, plus, even the guys in sum 41 know that evil is played.
Blacken-See Little Devil, then realize that this is a blatant rip off, they just take it a little further.
"On the eighth day God created skateboarders and gave them rule over all the concrete so they might do what they want with it"

Dec. 8th, 2002

Ok kids, here's the news so listen up! I guess Travis sold a bunch of shirts so maybe we'll get to make some new ones. On a related note I have not sold one shirt yet. Please buy a shirt off of me so I'm not worthless. Matt Desson says "lots of people are still riding their little kids bikes in the okanagan" and this is true. if you've been to sean's site lately (www.dirtyhippieclothing.com) you may have noticed that I'm riding for him now. This is because i like sean and his company, not because I'm leaving No Bikes (Travis will have to deal with me much longer than that). i drew up a new design today, it has a gun on it, it's awesome. Last thursday Travis and I headed down to see the Weakerthans play at Richard's on Richards, it was awesome and some guy even tried to attack john k samson and got beat down by security. In team news we just heard from Matt, he seems to be doing allright in taiwan, apparently he has a bike and is riding street. Jay broke his wrist or arm and is out for a while. Travis is coming home soon and last time i called him he had been drinking since 10:30 in the morning and couldn't find his car. Danny was at the Gun's n Roses riot and is probably busy with school, Jordan and Andrew are probably riding and probably still better than all of us and me, well, i'm just fine.-Aaron

Dec. 3rd, 2002

It is cold and wet and no one is riding so there is no news, but i was on the net today and i found a link off terrible one www.pornolize.com go there and in the top right corner there is a window, type in any web address and you will have a hay day. That is bmx

Nov. 28th 2002

The owner of a mountain bike company told Travis that it would be a waste of his skills if we didn't make frames. (weird....)

Nov. 23rd 2002

The news..... not sure if anything is going on here, i've been holed up in my house writing term papers for the last three weeks. I did go riding today and BMT is looking very nice. Mike & co. are almost done turning the 8 pack into a big 10 pack which will be very fun. If anyone has Jordan Hango's e-mail send it to me (sth11@hotmail.com). Oh and just so you know, pho bich nga has become quite the legend here in kelowna since about a year ago-Aaron

Nov. 23rd 2002

I know the news hasn't been updated for awile and that is becouse it is winter. well anywase i figured some news needs to be up. Me and my buddy chad rode way too far today and on our voyage i found too things. First a kick ass sign at a restarunt and then Aarons birthday present, a concert poster. well that is the news see ya'all suckers

Oct. 28th 2002

I got a new bike. It is super cool now i just got to find the time to build it.

Oct. 27th 2002

I went home to Summerland thid weekend and it was a downer from a riding point of view. The frist thing that happened was my new frame didn't show so i was bike less. Then i decided wouldn't it be fun to get really sick, so i did and now i feel like crap and can't talk. But sunday there was a small change for the better, A bunch of westbankers showed up in summerland to ride. They were Matt Ridgeway, Eeven AKA P-Spot and to other guys who i can't rember their names, sorry. Well they through down some tricks and i took some pictures. After that i drove home feeling like crap

Oct. 14th 2002 by Aaron

This weekend Jordan, Andrew and Travis came to ride, it was pretty dope (using the word "dope" is dope as well). had some fun riding and watching Jordan air out of a bloody jersey barrier. Travis kept up his reputation for being three years behind funny (aviators, so 1999.....), which, in turn, makes him funny again; but only because he is so not funny... got it? good. We shot a ton of photos so they should be up soon I hope. Andrew had a pretty good time at summerland i presume, you can derive that from the pictures.

Travis-I woke up pretty early and headed in to Penticton. I headed over to where Andrew and Jordan were staying and picked them up. Next stop was the shade ramp in Jay’s back yard. If you didn't already know jay is on the team but I make him help pay for shirts, I am such a dick. Well any ways, it was the first time Jordan seen the ramp so we all had a little jam for a bit. Jordan decided that he could do table tops and I sure wasn’t stopping him. The mini ramp was fun but we all decided to quit when it started moving again.

After a hour break of Road Fools we meet up with Aaron, Laurie and Jarad for a street session. We didn’t get too far before Jordan decided he can do tables of anything so he aired the gap between two jersey barriers and kicked some ass. The Jersey barriers were the last stop for Pen City street and they were a worth while stop every body had something they wanted to do and they all did there stuff.

That evening it was off to Summerland where we meet up with Dirty Hippies Sam and Summerland local Lincoln. The session was sick I had to leave early but apparently Sam crashed and bugered up his leg. Sorry dude

The next morning was another early one. Me and Jarad packed up the car and headed to Ben Lee Park in Kelowna. We meet up with Laurie, Andrew and Jordan at first, and a little latter in the afternoon Rob Sigaty and Robyn Terry, two of the best riders ever out of Nelson showed up. The session went strong into the night.

The next morning was a good closing to a good week end. I rolled down to the Summerland park shortly after Jarad showed up and then the Dirty Hippie himself Shawn we had a pretty mellow session. Shawn successfully pulled the Penticton signature trick, Feeble to fakie on the short sub. The session ended around one and I headed back to my new Burnaby home.

Oct. 2nd 2002

Andrew is pretty good so i guess he can be back on the team. Nelson rules, but hippies are dumb.

Oct 1st 2002

Andrew was kicked off the team today for being from nelson. Dirty hippies need showers.

Sept 25 2002

New news!

I've been riding a little lately with the kids from westbank, they're super fun and it's nice to see kids with different styles. Laurie and some of the locals have been getting some large sessions going mostly at coldstream but I always have to work, sounds like fun though. Jay Fletcher was on the team, I don't know if he still is, i hope he is though. Travis finished editing a new team video, it's called "All Eyes in You" and is actually really good. We don't have any copies and probably won't have some for a while but if you bug Jay he might make you a copy; the video features full sections from Travis, Jay Fletcher, Matt Lindsay and Andrew Lazaruk as well as small parts from Jarad, Jordan Hango and I. Apparently Jason Enns, Dave Osato, Dustin Guenther, Sandy Carson and Ed Docherty are in town, I haven't seen them though.

sept 11 2002

Well this is Travis here, i am finally settled in Burnaby shredding every day and sometimes going to school. the locals here are incredible and so are the parks. In team news Kyle is kicked off, the reasoning for this is personal but it had a lot to do with him quitting riding (also purple tinted windows and me just really enjoying kicking people off teams-Aaron). I rode with Paul Buchannan the other day he is sick but he is getting his knee cut open and having his ACL stapeled back down. I guess the ok news is up to Aaron now but I will be coming back all of the time. See ya all latter, Van Locals can get a hold of me over MSN Travis_burroughs@Hotmail.com

September 3

I didn't pull this and the picture is so big because I don't know how to change it.
The best part of this session was Jay Miron coming up to give Jarad a frame and fork. He basically drove for four hours, gave jarad his stuff, put his bike together for him then got three flats right away and drove home. The moral being that Jay is really nice.
Check out the hate graffitti on the dumpster, totally sucks hey....

July 28, 2002

News... Danny Vescerelli is now on the team, he beat Travis and I at an icepick contest so we gave him a shirt, he's from Drumheller alberta and learns tricks really fast. Check the riders section for a bio. This past weekend Travis and I also went to vancouver to watch the etnies premiere and ride some parks, we ended up riding brookswood in Langley and having lots of fun and the video, as I'm sure you've heard, is amazing.

The Winfield comp happened, nobody really showed up. It was fun riding with a bunch of kids though, chris pulled a flip from a 3 foot bowl to a grass bank and jordan had nice style; that's about it. Danny Vescarelli is in town from alberta next week so we'll probably have some fun.

July 14, 2002

Hello the Windfield comp is over and there is some news. once again we have relized the kids from nelson rule. 15 year old jordan shreded the contest with 6 foot airs over the hip and his first barspin, which just happened to be in a three sixty jordan tied for 1st with our chris geistlinger who was throughing back flips out of a three foot quater the comp ruled and i think i got more prizes then any one. Aaron can add his own end of the story in the central part of the e-zine
