My son and I were walking around a local flea
market when we saw this lady with a box. I assumed there was a dog or cat
in it. Well I took my son over to the lady and we looked in the box and
saw a tiny little sugar glider and the only other thing in this box was
a little bit of cat food. The little
glider looked horrible. I started to talk to the lady and she told
me that the glider was three or four
weeks old and that she pulled him from his parents because she sold
them. She also told me that
they were easy to take care of that all you needed to feed him was
cat food. At this point I knew I
had to rescue him. I didn't have my little girl glider yet ( I had
done 7 months or more in research
prior to buying my little girl) and I knew that this little guy needed
help so I bought him. When she
went to give him to me she picked him up by his tail and put him in
a jar.
I brought him home and worked with him and
in a short while he was giving me little glider kisses. I had him a week
in half to two weeks he didn't liked to be held or have his tail touched
but he did like to climb on me and give little kisses on my face.
Then yesterday I went to lunch with my family
and when I got home he was dead he was fine when I left or so I thought.
I called my vet and she came and got him and she thinks he died due to
his prior diet of cat food and the other abuse. I found out that he was
WAY to young to be seperated from his mother and that his little body couldn't
handle solid food.
Please before you get a glider do your research
after you get your glider do more research never
seperate a baby from his mother, let the the mother do it. Use a PROVEN
diet don't make one up
and be open to advice, don't ask for advice and then either get mad
because it is not what you want
to here or discard for nonsense. Glider information is always changing
make sure you have correct
information. Always go with glider love.
