I have seen a few posts asking about being able to own gliders and
ferrets. I live in a one bedroom apartment and I've owned gliders a little
over a year now but I decided I wanted ferrets because I love exotics.
Well, for about two months nothing went wrong, then one night I awoke to
find one of my ferrets playing upstairs in my room when she was
suppose to be downstairs in her cage. I picked her up and put her back
downstairs in her cage and went back to bed(it was 4:30a) when I
suddenly felt like something was wrong. I went downstairs and
immediatly went to the downstairs bathroom, but nothing was there; I
then went back to the ferret cage and looked down to find my first
baby(the male I had gotten June of last year) in the bottom of the cage, of
               course not alive.
My glider escaped his and his mate's cage, and to this
day I do not know how, and got into the ferret cage. I do not fully
understand what happened, why he couldn't get out of a cage he
so easily go into, but all is said and done unfortunatly. I still cry sometimes
when I think about the little things he did to make me
laugh. Hide and seek was his favorite game to play with his momma. But
I still have his mate and she is doing fine, along with his(& her) two baby
               girls.
It took me only three weeks to sell all four ferrets I had
acquired and now I will never own another animal that would eat or harm
my gliders in anyway unless I have a seperate room to keep them apart.

I just thought I would share my experience and help other people make a
               decision.
