Luckily our new lil glider survived, but just wanted to post his story
so that
others may learn. We...my son and I drove about 4 hours yesterday to
pick up a lil 2 year old male glider. He had not been messed with much
and was not to happy to be looked at either. We met the people and the
mall and only got a teeny weeny glimpse of him, well...when we got out
to
our van, we decided we would peek at him more and put him into our
pouch...he came out, looked at us, made a flying leap to my son and then
promptly darted up under/into the dashboard. We tried to get him, but he
climbes so far up that we could no longer even see him. Well...out here
in
Missouri the heat index was like 110 yesterday and the air in my van
doesn't work well when we are sitting still, so we had to go ahead and
start driving, the next town was about an hour away, so we drove there,
listening for sounds. When we got there, we bought some screwdrivers
and started taking the dash off, I still could not find him and had feared
that there was some way that he had gotten out. I had a migraine earlier
and it was only getting worse by this point, so I called home and asked
my hubby if there was any way for him to have gotten out...he didn't think
there was, I was, of course bawling at this point between the glider and
my headache, so my hubby told me to get a room and stay put til I felt
better. We went to the store and got babyfood and put it , water and a
pouch out for him and went to the room about 3pm, we kept checking
every hour, but no sign of the glider, then FINALLY at abuout 9pm, I went
out and check and he was sittin on the water bowl drinking. YEAH!!!!
ANyway, we caught him and all is well, but I just want to make people
think about all those tiny spots they can get into, even in the
car....oh...btw...dash is still kinda hangin off lol too hot to get out
there and
put it back on. lol
