Hi, I am very proud to say that
about 2 months ago I recieved my very first
glider which I now call Skyler. A few weeks later I had
Skyler in his pouch
(which was wide open) and took him in the bathroom with
me so I could wash my
face before I went to bed. When I was drying my face
my sister called me from
done stairs.
Forgetting about my dear little
glider I went down stairs to see why she had called me. She told me that
my favorite movie was on, so I watched it. Right before the movie was over
my sister went up stairs to brush her teeth in the same bathroom Skyler
was in. She went in the bathroom and noticed there was poop on the floor.
She ran down stairs screaming and said "The..the glider... hes in the bathroom.
My heart was pounding as I ran
up the stairs; straight to the bathroom. The door had been wide open and
so was the toliet. My first thought was hes dead he has to be dead!
I went towards the shower and there was Skyler looking as happy as ever
down at me from the curtain rod. I was so relieved that what could've happened
very easily didnt.
This is just a reminder try
to be careful with your gliders and what you do with them. I wrote
this real story so maybe next time when someone else almost does the same
thing I did they will think twice and hurry to put the glider away.
Hi, what I would like to share with you all today is something
that I call " Light Burned Paws."
One day while I was playing with my
sugar glider Skyler, an accident acquired. Skyler loves to play on my dresser.
He hangs on top of the mirror and looks at himself, tries to find treats
that I hide on the dresser. He just loves this dresser. I also keep a lamp
on my dresser since my bedroom lacks sunlight. Skyler decided to try to
climb the dresser lamp, and boy did he succeed. He raced up that lamp so
quick that if you blinked you would have missed it. Luckily I saw skyler's
tail swish right before he vanished under the lampshade. I thought he was
still sitting on the poll, but when I went of I saw that he was sitting
directly on the burning hot bulb! I
turned off the light and tried to get him out, but those
lil sugar gliders seem to
be to fast. Finally I managed to get him of the lamp.
I examined his little paws
very carefully and what I saw scared me. Blisters started
to appear on Skyler
hands. He would barely let me see them because he was
licking them trying to
stop the burn. I went to the bathroom and got a cold
wet cloth for Skyler to
reduce the burn. Poor lil bugger, all his little paws
were really red and each one had a tiny blister. For the days after, I
soaked skyler's paws in cold water. I felt so bad and ignorant for not
thinking of the dangers of a hot bulb.
So remember, don't be as ignorant
as I and turn off your lamps during playtime. I wouldn't want the same
thing that happened to my glider happen to yours!
