This ancient bridge on the River
Stour is the meeting point of the three parishes, grouped around and along the
river.
It provides the working name for the
parishes, for the website, and for the parishes' magazine, distributed free to every door in the parish.
You can read the magazine on this
website. Beyond its church focus, The Bridge has news and views from the
parish council (a civil body), a variety of local groups, columns on gardening
and farming, some entertainment, local history…
It is a community magazine with the church at its heart. This is likewise the
vision of the churches which sponsor its production:
we see ourselves as the God-centred hearts which beat the life of the Spirit to
every corner of our communities.
Then
the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal,
flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the
middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the
tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month.
And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse.
The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will
serve him. (Apoc. 22:1-3)
